Why does each of us want to be a researcher?
In recent years, we've seen a surge in interest in the paranormal, which may be partially due to the popularity of television programs and films devoted to the topic. More and more people, both young and old, are engaging in ghost research, purchasing equipment to document them. This phenomenon raises questions about the authenticity and methodology of these new "researchers." Is their enthusiasm driven by fascination or by inspiration derived from television entertainment? The answers to these questions could shed light on contemporary perceptions of paranormal mysteries.
often hear about people, both young and old, buying digital cameras and meters of film. I think it's good that people are becoming interested in our field of research, and I hope they finally find the ghosts of Aunt Sally and Uncle Johnny, who supposedly live in the basement of their family home. I still wonder why, these days, every Tomek, Darek, or Heniek wants to be a paranormal investigator. Now, if you're like me, this sudden increase in paranormal phenomena will probably seem a bit strange. As many of us probably remember, a few years ago, only weirdos and lunatics worked in this field. I'm a bit perplexed by the whole setup. I wonder if this paranormal movement wasn't inspired by reality shows or movies. If so, won't we run out of so-called investigators who base all their techniques solely on what they saw on television?
I admire those in television who do everything they can to reinforce our belief in the existence of the paranormal. If it were just a few shows, society wouldn't accept the existence of the paranormal as strongly as it does today.
I must also admit that I enjoy watching various paranormal shows. These shows provide hours of entertainment and sometimes even a good dose of laughter, or both. Yes, I said entertainment and laughter. These shows are not meant to be guides for those engaged in ghost hunting. They are meant to promote awareness and, in some way, educate people about the paranormal. Do you think the people running these shows should make it clear that they are not trying to teach ghost hunting or to prove or disprove the existence of the paranormal?
