Agathodemon
Also known as Agathodaimon or Agathodaemon, this was a good spirit/demon worshiped by the ancient Egyptians. He took the form of a serpent with a human head. Flying snakes or dragons worshiped by ancient peoples were also called Agathodaemons or good spirits.
The ancient Greeks also believed that the Agathademons were good spirits, protectors of vineyards and the land, and they also honored them by drinking wine after meals. They imagined them as snakes, and sometimes as young men holding cornucopias, bowls, and baskets of grain.
Agathademons were believed to be benevolent, mild-mannered personal guardians, and nightmares that were hostile towards personal guardians (the ancients believed that each person had a good and evil guardian assigned to them from birth, who could provide incentives, and who served as a messenger between the worlds of mortals and the gods).
