Eire.(chapter 6)
"I can't believe she was stupid enough to reject such a beautiful form of apology.
" "My dear, she didn't just reject it, she trampled it right in front of us.
" "Tell me, I want to know exactly what she said, maybe then I'll understand her.
" *
"Hello little flower," N. tried to kiss Sara, at least on the cheek, but she pulled away. He didn't like it, but maybe he was in too much of a hurry? "You liked the song. I know I've been acting like a total jerk lately, but I promise, it'll be different this time.
" "Your album sucks! Don't promise me anything, because it won't change anything!
" "But what do you mean, you didn't like it? You've always loved my music, my songs. What did I do wrong now, what the hell are you talking about? I'm trying, I canceled my trip to soccer camp, that already pissed my father off. Instead of going to parties with the boys, I sat there and wrote a song for you. I'm trying, can't you see? Even though I don't even know what I did wrong."
"Oh, stop it," Sara said, grabbing the CD and throwing it into the fireplace. "You're pathetic, that CD is pure trash, nothing more. You mean nothing to me anymore either. I don't know what I ever saw in you. You're just an idiot who fell in love with me, and I went out with him out of kindness. But it was a mistake.
" "So, that whole year you spent with me was a mistake to you, I mean nothing to you? You stupid bitch, I could have been with any girl I wanted. Half the girls in our year would have given anything to even look at them, but I loved you, and you were the only one I wanted to dance with at all those discos. I only let you kiss me, and you were the only one I kissed. Do you know how much you wanted to kiss me? No, because you probably don't care, but you don't even know how hard it was for some people to say no, but I was faithful to you. And now I'm finding out it was pointless? You're right, because you're just like all those idiots, no different from them." It's a shame I only just realized it.
N. ran out of the house, slamming the door, and he never got to see her again.
"Sarah, you're overreacting, you shouldn't be acting like that. He's trying, but you don't see it. Why don't you give him a chance?
" "Oh, for fuck's sake, I'm leaving the day after tomorrow. And honestly, I'm fed up with all of you. You too, you keep telling me what to do and what not to do."
That's when Anne realized Sarah's eyes were strange. She hoped she was wrong, she knew that was how Sarah's sister died, what if she died too, what if the same thing happened to her?!
"Sarah, you're high!!! I only just realized it, what the hell are you doing?! You want to waste your life like your sister. I know you lost her first, then your grandmother, but you can't end up like Kelly!"
"Fuck off, it's none of your business. I'll take as much as I want, and you definitely won't tell me what to do!
" "Where did you get the stuff, tell me!
" "From Kelly.
" "But she's dead!
" "She left me some inheritance," she said, then laughing hysterically.
*
"Anne, that's impossible, was she on drugs?
" "Yes, I don't know for how long, but as it turned out, her sister, a drug dealer, left some drugs in her travel bag, and unfortunately, Sarah stumbled upon it.
" "But what happened next? Did her parents know?
" "Yes, her father arrived right after I spoke with Sarah, saw a bag from one of those things, and I started explaining to him that I hadn't given it to her. But he already knew, he knew Sarah had started taking drugs. That's why he was taking her to Scotland, to a clinic for newcomers. She still had a chance because she wasn't that addicted. He drove me home and told me there was nothing I could have done to stop me from blaming myself."
- Did N. find out she was taking drugs all the time?
- No, I never told him. He would start blaming himself, saying it was his fault for not keeping an eye on her, but what could he do? When even I didn't notice she was drunk all the time? ________________________________________________________________
