Writer Jane Roberts claimed to receive messages through a Ouija board from a being from the afterlife who called himself Set


One of the most unusual and controversial cases of recorded messages from the afterlife involves Jane Roberts, who claimed to receive books from a spiritual being named Set.

Her story began in 1963, when Jane (a writer) and her husband (an artist) began experimenting with a Ouija board to develop extrasensory perception. To their surprise, a being named Set appeared and began transmitting to Jane, letter by letter, the most astonishing information about life, the human condition, and the potential of human experience.

Eventually, Jane managed to receive information from Set directly through channeling, without the use of a Ouija board. "A fantastic avalanche of radically new ideas hit my head with tremendous force," Jane said, "as if my skull were some kind of receiving station, tuned to an unbearable volume, my body sitting at a table, my hands furiously scribbling words and ideas that flashed through my mind."

The result of many years and at least 1,500 channeling sessions is seven books that Jane claims were dictated by Seth, including "Seth Speaks: The Eternal Validity of the Soul, The Nature of Personal Reality and Dreams, "Evolution," and Value Fulfillment
