Chakras

Chakras (a Sanskrit word meaning "wheel") are energy centers in the human subtle bodies that play a crucial role in maintaining balance between the physical and spiritual bodies. Their functioning influences health, emotions, and well-being, and each chakra is associated with specific hormonal glands. In this article, we will examine the main chakras, their locations, functions, and ways to harmonize them, which can contribute to improved quality of life and well-being.

What are chakras?

The word "chakra" comes from Sanskrit and means "wheel." Chakras are funnel-shaped energy centers located in the invisible bodies. They form a bridge between the subtle bodies and the physical body. Without them, our physical body could not exist.

Chakras are receivers, transducers, and transmitters of energy. Each chakra is associated with a hormonal center and supplies energy for its functioning. Blockages in energy flow, as well as overload, can lead to hormonal imbalances and disharmony in the body, mind, and spirit.

Chakras are equipped with subtle energy "antennas" that respond to every signal coming from within us and from our surroundings. Each of us has a different vibration.

Most philosophical and esoteric schools distinguish seven main chakras, along with auxiliary chakras located in the feet, knees, hands, and subordinate chakras. Each organ has its own mini-chakra that governs its function. For example, the chakras located in the feet facilitate contact with the earth and help absorb earth energy. The hand chakras are a transmitter of energy flowing from the heart chakra, which we transmit to ourselves, others, plants, and animals. We communicate with our surroundings through our hands. When we greet someone or place our hands on another person, we receive a wide variety of information. During a Reiki initiation, the chakras in the hands are opened.

As I said, there are seven primary chakras. The first and seventh have single chalices, while chakras 2 through 5 have chalices directed toward the front and back of the body.

The first chakra, called the root chakra or the root of life, has the strongest connection with the energy of the Earth. This chakra channels subtle energies from the higher dimensions to the physical plane. Its cup points downward, toward the Earth. It is located in the perineum.

It governs the skeletal system (spine, teeth, nails), the large intestine, and the prostate. It is responsible for blood composition, cell structure, and body temperature. It is associated with the adrenal glands, where adrenaline and noradrenaline are produced. The root chakra is the source of power for the higher chakras. Mystical energy channels originate from it. The root chakra is associated with the sense of smell.People with a well-developed chakra experience life as pleasant, enjoyable, and safe. They receive what they need and have a high level of vitality. On the other hand, those with a disordered first chakra believe that life on earth is a nightmare; they have bad jobs, low wages, things aren't going well for them, they don't get much, they feel powerless, and they're reluctant to act. This state leads to depression, anxiety, detachment from reality, and hypersensitivity. To prevent this, I highly recommend grounding and strengthening exercises, such as Tai Chi and Hatha yoga.

We often say of successful people: "This one has his feet firmly planted on the ground." And so it is. The first chakra is our foundation. To develop and rise to the top, you must first establish strong roots. Then you can be sure that when the wind blows, nothing bad will happen to you.

This chakra has another special role to play, the role of a safety valve for the entire energy and mental system of a person, because it relieves stress, emotional and mental tension, and relieves the spine and the entire body.

The root chakra is associated with the color red. To stimulate it, we can recall, for example, a field of red roses, which we smell, touch, and admire.

Meditation related to the root chakra involves everything connected to the earth. We can visualize walking barefoot on grass, taking mud baths, breathing in the scent of the earth, or conjuring the image of a powerful red sun rising from the horizon.

To balance the energy of the root chakra, repeat the vowel "U" on the exhale. Therefore, we can chant "U" in our free time, and the appropriate vibrations will balance its energy. The second chakra, located in the lower abdomen, is connected to the body's central energy point, the Tan Tien, located about three fingertips below the navel. It symbolizes the gift of life and is associated with fertility, reproduction, and sexual energy. Therefore, it has a significant influence on our interpersonal relationships, especially with the opposite sex.

People with a developed second chakra can achieve great success in their chosen areas of life. This chakra contains the pre-natal energy with which we are born. It is influenced by our karma and genetic code.

This chakra is associated with the element of water and the sense of taste. It is subordinated to the color orange. It is responsible for bodily fluids, including lymph, semen, and organs such as the kidneys, bladder, and reproductive organs. This chakra is energetically connected to the ovarian or testicular glands. It is considered the center of primal human forces.

Chakra disorders typically develop during childhood and adolescence, primarily due to upbringing, prohibitions, and prohibitions. Generally speaking, the more taboos there are about sex, the more disorders there are in this chakra. This creates a sense of guilt, sin, and the need for subconscious self-punishment. This can result in tumors, fibroids, cysts, frigidity, and impotence. Water-related meditations have a beneficial effect on this chakra. Imagine sitting by a calm lake, gazing at a waterfall, and drinking spring water. You can also meditate under the full moon. This cleanses your chakra. Too much energy in the second chakra can lead to excessive sensuality and a tendency to gain weight. Energy deficiency, on the other hand, causes frigidity, impotence, and anorexia.
