Drowned Green Part 1

A little girl swinging on a swing stared in fear at the man who had been watching her for a long time. He looked like someone standing outside a church begging, even if only for a few złoty. He was dirty, hunched, and had long, black hair tied with a string that looked unwashed for at least a month. His eyes were dark brown and bloodshot, as if he'd been drinking. He smiled at the girl in a way that sent shivers down her spine. She wanted to go home, but she had to wait for her mother, who had gone to a nearby store to buy some groceries.
She almost screamed when she noticed a strange man approaching her. She quickly regained control and remembered her mother's advice to ignore anyone who approached her. "
Hello, little girl. You have such beautiful, golden hair, just like my little daughter. Unfortunately, her mother wouldn't let me see her. So I walked around the park, miserable, thinking.
The girl was intrigued by the story about the man's daughter, asking,
"Can't you ever see your daughter? That's sad."
That was exactly what the man meant. He smiled and said no, suggesting the girl take a walk in the park.
"I can't, I have to wait for my mom," the girl said.
"It's okay, I'll wait with you," the man offered, sitting on a swing nearby.

The girl's mother emerged from the store carrying a shopping bag. She headed toward the park. She knew her daughter was smart and certainly wouldn't talk to strangers. How wrong she was. When she reached the park, she was surprised to find her daughter gone.
Her daughter, the apple of her eye...
"Laura! Where are you?!" the distraught woman cried, believing her daughter was playing hide-and-seek with her.
However, further calls were to no avail; the girl had vanished for good.
Her mother collapsed onto the sidewalk, crying, and people passing by called an ambulance, thinking something was wrong with her. And they were right...

"It doesn't have to be this way. There is a better world, full of princesses, kings, and the like."
"I don't believe you.
" "You don't have to, the important thing is that I know.
" "You don't know anything."
"We'll find out, just close your eyes."

Laura woke up in the truck. She didn't know what was happening. She only remembered the conversation with the stranger in the park, then the blow to the head and...
"What happened next?" the girl asked herself.
Unfortunately, she couldn't answer that question, and there was no one else in the car except the driver.
"Sir, where are you taking me?" Laura asked, and the man driving the car turned to her. It wasn't the man from the park, though, but another one, more well-groomed and younger.
"I'm taking you to a new home.
" "What home? I have a home!" the frightened girl screamed.
"That's not important anymore," the man replied, shouting. He lost his focus and veered out of his lane; now a speeding truck was barreling toward his car. An accident was inevitable.
"No!!!" Laura managed to scream, and then the force of the impact threw her from the car.
The girl collapsed onto the street. Her whole body ached and she couldn't move. She saw the truck crushed by the lorry and heard the terrifying scream of the dying man inside.
"I wish I could be home so much," she thought, and darkness enveloped her.
Forever....

"Damn! They said she was dead on the radio. Marek too...
" "Did something go wrong?
" "None of your business!
" "What? It's none of mine? Because of your sick mania, an innocent girl died?
" "Quiet! I wanted to save her.
" "From what? "
"Never mind...
" "From what?!!!!
From you..."

Laura's mother stirred anxiously at the sound of the phone and went to answer it.
"Hello.
" "Hello, am I speaking to Mrs. Marta H.?
" "Yes."
"Are you Laura's mother?
" "Yes, has something happened to my daughter?"
"I'm afraid so..." "Ma'am! Are you there? Hello!"
Laura's mother couldn't have reacted any differently to the news that something had happened to her beloved daughter. Unfortunately...

" "You'll hear it again. I wanted to save her from you.

Many teenagers from Rzeszów high schools decided to organize Marches of the Living to honor Laura. Among them were Julia, Ewelina, Karolina, and Agnieszka. Although they attended different high schools, the girls knew each other well from elementary and middle school. Together, they decided to organize a March of the Living.
It was supposed to be a tribute to Laura, but it turned into a street demonstration.

REFORM THE POLICE!
WE MUST DEFEND CITIZENS!
WHERE WE WERE YOU WHEN LAURA DIED?!

The young people were outraged by the police's behavior; they believed they hadn't done enough to search for the missing Laura and blamed them for her death. The city authorities were helpless. They tried in vain to calm the crowd of young people gathered in front of City Hall, shouting slogans against the police and the government. Finally, the president addressed the crowd:
"Citizens! You must know that the police made every effort to find Laura. You cannot blame the police for her death.
However, the people did not listen to the president. Eggs, stones, and even bottles were thrown. Police officers were sent to the streets to calm the youth. However, the demonstration ended tragically. One police officer, wounded in the head by a broken bottle, died in the hospital. Only after this did the terrified people calm down and go home. However, this did not bring back the police officer who had defended order, even at the cost of his own life..."

"Because of you, another innocent man died.
" "How do you mean because of me? "
"It's all because of you..."
"Be quiet! I can't listen to you anymore!
" "You have to..." "Because I'm here to let you know... " "
Be quiet!!!!
They'll find me someday...
