# Chapter 15: Dawn of Truth

The first rays of sunlight streamed through the high windows of the library, illuminating the faces of the exhausted guests. The man who had tried to kill Albert sat on the floor, now without resistance, and Jerzy Langer stood nearby, watching him carefully.

"Now everything must be explained," Jerzy said. "Tell us everything, from the beginning."

The man sighed deeply, his voice cold but sincere.

"Five years ago... Albert discovered something that could destroy our family's reputation. I knew that if it came to light, it would be the end of everything. That's why... I tried to stop it."

Kaja, Maria, and Helena listened in silence. Piotr looked at him with a mixture of relief and anger.

"Is that why you've returned now?" Kaja asked.

"Yes," the man admitted, "I had to finish what I started back then. But I didn't anticipate Jerzy would be so vigilant."

Jerzy nodded, then addressed everyone:

"This is the end of a night full of fear. Each of you must now face the truth. The story that began five years ago has finally come to an end."

Maria took a deep breath, hugging Kaja. Helena finally lowered her arms, and Piotr allowed himself a smile, though the sadness of the past still haunted him.

The detective led everyone outside. Dawn illuminated the dark corners of the estate, which had been the scene of dramatic events all night. The tension slowly subsided, and the silence brought relief.

"The truth has been revealed," Jerzy said, looking at the gathered people, "and although the price was high, at least no one will live in fear of the past anymore."

Outside, birds began to sing, and the air smelled of the freshness of morning. The night of darkness and mystery was over, and life at the estate was gradually returning to normal.
