The island that sank

My hypothesis is based on the description of the island that sank and became a muddy escarpment, making navigation impossible, reflecting the historical memory of a massive tsunami triggered by the Storegga fault around 6100 BC.

The tsunami completely devastated the lowlands in the southern North Sea. Of course, sea levels were about 15 meters lower than they are today, so the areas affected by the tsunami are now underwater. The Dogger Shoal, which was then a small island, is located there (see map).

The North Sea floor in the Dogger Shoal area has been identified as a promising area for underwater archaeology.
