# **MINI-ADVENTURE X — "THE DARK MASTER"**

*(full, long, novel version)*

The city had been in chaos for months. Missing people, strange shadows, mysterious rituals, and mists that appeared at night all pointed to the presence of someone extraordinary—someone manipulating the **darkness itself**.

Commissioner Jakub had received information that all the places he had investigated—the forest, the castle, the theater, the sewers, and the monastery—were linked to a single man known only as the **Dark Master**.

Argo was by his side, alert to every movement in the air. The dog sensed the energy that made Jacob's heart beat faster.

"Argo... today we end this once and for all," Jacob said, entering the abandoned factory on the edge of town the informant had pointed out.

The darkness inside was thick as tar. Every footstep echoed, and the air was heavy, filled with the smell of must and smoke. Runes pulsating with a pale red light—the symbols of the Dark Master—were carved into the floor and walls.

Suddenly, a figure appeared in the center of the hall—tall, slender, and cloaked in a dark cloak. Its eyes glowed ominously, and shadows swirled around it, seeming to have a life of their own.

"Hello, Jacob..." a voice whispered, echoing throughout the room. "I knew you'd come eventually."

Argo barked, standing guard at Jacob's heel. “Argo, be ready…” Jacob muttered, raising his flashlight.

Shadows moved, surrounding them on all sides. Every movement of the Dark Master scattered the light and created **illusions** meant to confuse them.

Jacob finally spotted an **old rune board**, on which was written a ritual to limit the power of shadows. He knew he had to act immediately.

“Argo, point!” he shouted as the dog ran to the board and began scratching at the runes with its paws.

Jacob’s flashlight, aimed at the runes, illuminated the entire room, and the shadows began to shrink. The Dark Master let out an **inhuman shriek**, spinning in the air, trying to maintain control.

“This is the end of your power!” Jacob shouted.

The runes pulsed brighter and brighter, and the shadows shattered like glass. The Dark Master screamed, trying to break free, but the flashlight’s light and the energy of the runes ultimately consumed him.

As silence filled the factory, Jacob saw that **all the missing people, freed by the power of the runes, were standing around**, frightened but safe. Argo wagged his tail, happy that the mission was a success.

Jakub took a deep breath:

"Good, boy... finally, the darkness is over."

The city began to regain its peace, but Jacob knew that **dark secrets can always return**.

"Argo, as long as we are together, there is no shadow we cannot dispel," the commissioner said.

The dog looked at him loyally, and together they left the factory, knowing that **light prevails where there is courage and loyalty**.
