Great. So we go deeper—where even a whisper carries more than it should.--
# **New Dark Series—Chapter 6: “The Cave of Whispers”**
*(extensive, full of tension and detail—continuing the atmosphere)*
Silence accompanied them the entire way. Not just ordinary—this one was heavy, as if every second were the drawn-out breath of something watching them.
When Jacob, Argo, and their ally reached the edge of the stone cliff, the sky was pale, sickly. The rising sun was a washed-out purple. And below, amidst the mist covering the valley, lay the entrance to the Cave of Whispers.
It was unmarked.
It was unguarded.
It wasn't even clearly visible.
You heard it before you saw it.
Whispers.
A thousand whispers.
Quiet, full of reproach, tears, pleas, anger.
Argo stopped first.
He howled lowly, as if warning someone—or himself.
The ally spat on the ground.
“I hate this place.”
“You were here?” Jacob asked.
“Once. I came out… changed.”
Jacob looked at him intently.
“Changed how?”
The ally looked away.
“Just… changed.”
That single word hung between them like a blade.
### **Cave Entrance**
They descended natural rock steps. The walls were rough, cold. When Jacob ran his hand over the stone, he felt a vibration—barely perceptible, yet rhythmic. As if the cave were breathing.
The whispers grew louder as they went deeper.
But it wasn’t one language. More than one tone.
These were the voices of people who were no longer there.
Voices that shouldn't exist.
Voices no one should ever hear.
Argo was behaving differently. He no longer growled. He no longer hissed. He didn't tense his muscles.
He was… cautious.
The lion that could pounce on a beast three times its size—now he moved his paws slowly, as if afraid to step on someone's memory.
Jakub glanced at his ally:
"What will we find here?"
"The answer. But the question terrifies me."
"What question?"
The ally paused.
"At what price?"
### **Interior of the Chamber**
After about an hour of walking, the cave suddenly opened up. There was a vast chamber, its ceiling lost in darkness. A thick fog hung in the air. And in the center…
…in the center stood a **table-like altar made of black stone**.
And something else.
Something that had no shape, yet was tangible.
Something that resembled a human silhouette, but as if seen through the reflection of distorted glass.
Jakub didn't know if it was a shadow.
If it was smoke.
If it was a person.
The creature turned toward them—though it had no eyes.
The whispers in the cave fell silent.
And after a moment, all the whispered voices said at once:
**“Hello, Jacob.”**
Argo roared, ready to leap, but Jacob grabbed its mane.
“No. Wait.”
The creature took a step. Its body rippled with the rhythm of its own inhuman breathing.
“Who are you?” Jacob asked.
The creature replied after a second of silence, its voice echoing the echo of all the people who had ever died here:
**“I am the one who carries what is forgotten.”**
**“I am the last one who remembers things that cannot be remembered.”**
**“I am the one who was given… Shadow Sight.”**
The ally took two steps back.
Jakub felt his stomach tighten all the way to his spine.
The creature raised an inhuman hand and pointed at them.
**“And you, Jacob… you carry a fragment of what my race has lost.”**
**“Without you… I cannot return.”**
Jakub covered his eyes with his hand—his gaze felt trembling, as if something were trying to control it.
Argo roared loudly, ready to pounce on the creature.
But then she added:
**“You came for the truth… so I will give it to you in one piece.”**
The floor beneath their feet began to crack.
The mist in the air turned darker, heavier.
The creature opened what looked like a hand—and from within it emerged a ball of light.
Small.
Pale.
Trembling like a hot coal.
**“Will you accept the first truth?”**
**“Will you turn away from it… and return blind?”**
Jacob clenched his hands into fists.
The ally hissed:
“Don’t do this. They always make you pay. Always.”
Argo stood beside Jacob, looking him straight in the eye.
Jacob had to make a decision.

## **Jakub's Choice**
*(choose—and I'll write a very long, comprehensive chapter later)*
### **Option A:** Jacob reaches out and accepts the first truth.
The light touches his hand and… begins to change something in his mind.
### **Option B:** Jacob refuses.
The creature reacts with aggression, and the cave begins to close like a living organism.
### **Option C:** Jacob tries to deceive the creature—pretend to accept the gift, but at the last moment he pulls his hand away.
This is the most dangerous option.
