# **MINI-ADVENTURE IV — "ABSOLVED HOSPITAL"**
*(full, long, novel version)*
The mental hospital on the hill had stood empty for years, its windows broken, its walls overgrown with wild ivy. The town avoided it, and legend had it that at night the **screams of former patients** could be heard there. Commissioner Jakub had received an anonymous tip—someone claimed that the missing people and shadows he had observed in the forest might be connected to this place.
Argo walked beside him, nose to the ground, paws gently treading the gravel road. The dog felt the tension in the air and knew they wouldn't be alone.
“Be ready, man,” Jacob whispered, holding his flashlight in one hand and his other on his gun holster. “Nothing is ordinary in this place.”
The main door creaked as he opened it. The hallway greeted them with a heavy musty, damp smell, and the walls were stained with old paint and marked with handprints, as if someone was trying to escape from something invisible.
Inside, among the remains of abandoned beds and carts, Jacob saw the first signs—runes carved into the floor and walls, similar to those in the forest and the tenement house, but more chaotic, as if someone had been experimenting with them for years.
“Argo, can you feel these energies?” Jacob murmured.
The dog growled low, sniffed the air, and slowly moved forward, leading the commissioner through the dark corridors.
At one point, the flashlight's beam reflected off something gleaming on the floor. They were **old photographs of patients**, and they all looked up, as if **looking directly at Jakub and Argo**. Each gaze seemed filled with suffering, but also with warning.
“You are not alone…” whispered Jakub. “And not everything that disappeared wants to return.”
Suddenly, a rustling and soft moaning sound came from the end of the corridor. Shadows moved in time with drops of water falling from the ceiling. Argo barked, and Jakub knew these weren’t the ghosts of ordinary patients. Something was manipulating them, something **living within the hospital itself**, attracting those who dared to enter.
Moving toward the source of the sound, Jakub and Argo reached the former therapy room. In its center stood a **metal furnace**—old and dusty, and from within it emerged **shadow-like figures**, swirling and pulsing. The faces of the missing people flickered within them.
“Argo, we have to end this!” Jacob shouted, watching as one of the creatures began to emerge from the furnace and head towards them.
The dog lunged forward, barking and leaping towards the creature. The commissioner followed close behind, aiming his flashlight at the swirling shadow. The light pierced the figure, and a **wave of energy** shot from within, shattering the runes in the air and freeing the trapped souls.
The shadow groaned, pulsing, then vanished into thin air, leaving silence and peace. The souls began to float freely and slowly vanished, returning to their own world.
Jakub looked at Argo, who wagged his tail, tired but victorious.
“Good, mate… one more night of success.”
The hospital remained empty, but Jacob knew that the **secrets of the city were far from over**. And that with Argo at their side, they would always be ready to face the darkness.

If you want, I can now prepare **MINI-ADVENTURE V**, even darker and more complex, with a serial killer mystery, an old castle, and supernatural threats.
