# **New Dark Series – Chapter 2: “The House Without Doors”***(continued – long, extensive, dark)*

The city looked peaceful only from a distance. A closer look revealed small but disturbing changes: disappearances of people, sudden power outages in selected districts, strange shadows watching passersby from rooftops and alleys.

After the events in the old crypt, Jacob, Argo, and their ally analyzed documents stolen from the Shadow Cult. Among the spells, ritual diagrams, and maps, they found one particularly disturbing reference:

**“The House Without Doors – the observation center from which the Shadow watches the city.”**

There was no address. There was no map. Just a short note:
*"You won't find the house. It will find you."*

## **Mysterious Appearance of a House**

Three days passed before Argo suddenly reacted. They were returning at dusk through a deserted part of the city, where streetlights rarely worked and the wind carried the echo of distant footsteps. Suddenly, the dog stopped, growled deeply, and turned its head toward a narrow, inconspicuous street.

"He sensed something," the ally said, immediately bringing his hand to his weapon.
Jakub stared into the darkness.
"I can't see anything..."

Only when they had taken a few steps further down the street did they understand.

Before them stood a house that hadn't been there a moment before.

A house that... **had no door.**
No windows on the ground floor.
No number.
Only the walls—perfectly smooth, black, and absorbing light like living matter.

On the first floor, a single window was visible. And behind it... a shadow. Too tall to be human.

Argo growled with unprecedented aggression.

"It's a trap," the ally said.

"Of course it is," Jacob replied. "But we have to go in."

And then the house opened of its own accord.

The wall before them slid open silently, as if drawing them into the darkness.

## **Interior of the House Without Doors**

An unnatural silence reigned inside. The corridors were long, impossible to gauge, lit only by a faint, pale light that seemed to come from nowhere.

There were drawings on the walls.
Dozens, hundreds of drawings of shadows.
Some resembled human silhouettes. Others—something completely unknown.

Jakub stopped at one of the paintings—Argo.

And next to it… Jacob in chains.

The ally swallowed.

"Someone has been watching us for a long time."

Suddenly, the silence was broken by the sound of footsteps.

Quiet. Light.

Unnatural.

A tall figure approached from the end of the corridor. It was humanoid, but it moved so fluidly it seemed not to touch the floor. Its body was composed of… **slippery shadow**, with red eyes flashing every so often.

Argo jumped first.

Leo lunged toward the shadowy being, but his body passed through it as if through smoke.

The being laughed—mouthless, soundless, echoless.

Jakub pulled the trigger, but the bullets disappeared into the shadow and vanished.

“It’s a projection… or something much worse,” the ally said.

The being stopped right in front of them, as if studying them.

And then… it spoke.

In a whisper that sounded like a thousand voices all at once.

“The Shadow knows you… It follows you… and when night comes… it will consume you.”

With those words, she disappeared—dissipating like smoke in the wind.

## **The Heart of the House**

After meeting the shadowy figure, the corridors began to change.

The walls began to shift on their own.

The ceiling rose and fell like a breath.

“The House is alive,” Jacob observed.

“And it wants us to lose our way,” the ally added.

Argo led them on, guided by the scent of something humans couldn’t sense.

They reached a large hall, in the center of which stood a marble table.

On the table lay a book.

Old. Sewn together with black thread.

It pulsed with energy.

It was titled:

**Shadow’s Sight – Chapter One**

“This is no ordinary book,” Jacob said. “It's a manual,” the ally replied. “The cult is planning something big.”

When Jacob touched the cover, the house began to shake as if in an earthquake. Shadows approached from all sides.
The creature they had encountered earlier began to emerge from the floor. This time, it grew, taking on form and mass.

“We have to escape, now!” the ally shouted.

Argo grabbed the book between his teeth and ran ahead.

The hallways changed dynamically, but Argo nailed every right turn.
Dom tried to stop them, but he couldn't anticipate the lion's instincts.

Finally, they burst into the street, and the house…
disappeared.
It vanished like a shadow under the flashlight.

Only the book remained.

Jakub took a deep breath and looked at his companions.
“We are being drawn into something much bigger than we imagined.” “And that's just the beginning,” the ally added.

Argo placed his paw on the book, as if knowing the answer—and the threat—hidden within.
