MINI-ADVENTURE 1 — “Mists of the Forgotten Forest”**

# **

The forest stretched on endlessly, and the fog enveloped every corner like a heavy, gray veil.
Jacob walked cautiously, and Argo followed close beside him, alert to the slightest tremor in the earth and rustle of leaves.
The ally walked a few steps behind them, observing the darkness that seemed to have a life of its own.

“I feel something…” Jacob murmured.
“What exactly?” the ally asked.
“An unseen gaze. Someone or something is watching our every move.”

The fog thickened. The trees seemed to shift, their branches moving as if they were guiding Jacob and his companions deeper into the forest.
Thin, black roots emerged from the ground, slowly entwining their legs, trying to stop every step.

“Argo, be alert,” Jacob said.
The dog growled, its fur standing on end.
Suddenly, the mist behind them transformed into a figure—tall, slender, covered in a shimmering black armor. Its eyes glowed like two glowing embers.

“Who are you?” the figure whispered in a voice that sounded like the whispering of leaves and the crackling of snapping branches.
“We seek answers,” Jacob replied, never taking his eyes off the strange creature.

The figure smiled, and thin streaks of black erupted from its hands, twisting into the earth and creating shapes resembling people, animals, and coiled circles of energy.
“Your lives will be my lesson… if you survive,” it said, and the mist glowed with green light.

Jakub felt a familiar tingling in his hands—the power he had once received was now reacting to the creature’s presence.
“Argo, prepare!” The dog leaped forward, barking, and the roots crumbled under its energy.
The ally extended his arms, ready to fight, but Jacob stopped him with a wave of his hand:

"This is no ordinary fight. We must understand what it wants."

The shadowy figure slowly approached Jacob.

"You seek enemies..." Jacob said, concentrating his energy in his hands.

"I seek no enemies... I seek justice," the being replied.

The fog swirling around them began to form a maze—winding paths, shifting trees, obstacles that changed every second.
Jacob understood this was a test—not physical, but mental.

They must navigate the maze, solving the shadows' riddles before the figure revealed its true intentions.

The first riddle appeared before them:
"Symbols were carved into the tree, pulsing with golden light."
"What do they mean?" the ally asked.
"It's a pattern... a code of the forest," Jacob replied. “We must match each symbol to its counterpart in the maze, or we will be stuck here forever.”

Argo barked, pointing with his nose at the correct symbols.
Jacob nodded and began matching patterns.
Each correct move dispersed the fog, and the maze shifted, leading them deeper.

After hours of struggle, tired and filled with fear, they reached the central clearing.

There waited the creature, but this time without aggression.
“You have passed the test,” she said. “Your courage and ability to think have saved you.”
“What do you want from us?” Jacob asked.
“Understanding,” she replied. “The forest is not a place of ordinary deaths and lives. It is a mirror of your choices.”
“So now we know…” the ally said. “Every step, every power, must be respected.”

The fog began to recede.

The forest grew silent again, but Jacob knew something else lurked in the heart of the forest—something that was only just beginning to observe his movements.

Argo lifted his head, sniffed, and barked, ready for another adventure.
