Just as cemeteries in the US have their own history, so too do the buildings where children lived. One of these homes is Pythian Castle in Springfield, Missouri. The building was built in 1913 by the so-called "Knights of Pythias." Many homeless children were sent here. Until the early 1940s, the castle was a simple orphanage. In early 1941, the castle was converted into a military hospital. Alongside the suffering children, wounded soldiers or those who had managed to escape death were housed there. Many of these people died in this building. Rumors abounded that German prisoners of war were also placed there for interrogation. The prisoners were chained to the walls in the basement.
Strange voices are constantly heard in the hall of this house. People who have stayed there report hearing a constant "Halo" and the voice of a little girl named Rahel. The most "active" rooms seem to be the theater, the cafeteria, and the basement. In the theater, the most common sighting is of a large, burly man, who was said to have been aggressive in life. Interestingly, several people have seen this man in various corners of the house, which leads me to believe that his spirit wanders throughout the building. Despite this, the energy of children can be felt in this castle, and people generally describe the building's energy as cheerful. However, this muscular man sends shivers down the spines of those who visit.
The Paranormal Task Force decided to thoroughly investigate Pythian Castle. On March 23, 2005, the Paranormal Task Force set foot inside the castle. The first thing they noticed was a mysterious "Halo" that echoed faintly through the rooms. The group then proceeded to the cafeteria. They spent about five minutes inside and noticed nothing unusual.
After a thorough inspection, a handprint appeared on one of the tables, which hadn't been there a few minutes earlier. It was black and deep. The hunters decided to stay on the trail of this hand and performed a "Heat Signature," which allowed them to measure the temperature around the object using a special infrared device. A cold object appears black, a warm one white, and a hot, highly energetic one red. They determined that the object was mostly red with black rims. This indicates a very strong energy that is also cold. For the Paranormal Task Force, this was the first evidence of spiritual activity in the building.
During their investigation, the group enlisted the help of Olivia Myers, Greg Myers' daughter. Experts to this day believe that children are more susceptible to paranormal activity than adults. Olivia sensed concentrated energy in one of the rooms, and the group was then ordered to leave
.On the fourth floor of the house was the so-called Tower Room. Children from the orphanage were forbidden from entering this room. Upon examination, strange childlike handprints were found in the dust on the windowsills. It should also be noted that upon listening to the recording, it was discovered that a voice uttered clear blasphemy against the group, and some members experienced nausea upon entering the room.
