New-unhappy? Part 14

"Sit down," the teacher said. Gracja sat down on a chair right by the door.

"What's going on here?" the girl asked. "

I know you're new and that you might not like some teachers, but have you ever considered that you're doing something wrong?" the teacher said. "

I don't understand. What exactly is going on?" Gracja asked. "

There are all sorts of rumors going around school about you. Specifically, about how you speak to Ms. Paola. I understand that Ms. Liza is a new and young teacher, but that doesn't excuse your behavior."

"But what am I doing?"

"You know perfectly well. I won't go into whether it's true or not. Whether it's you or not. You know perfectly well how it is, and if there's something wrong with your behavior, try to change it," Ms. Róża stated. Gracja looked askance at Paola, who remained silent.

"I'm behaving properly." It's not my fault the teacher can't handle the fact that I said something I shouldn't and has to take me to the guidance counselor immediately!" Gracja said, raising her voice. Then Paola interrupted the conversation.

"I didn't bring you here!"

"It wasn't Ms. Liza, it was me. As I said, there are all sorts of rumors going around school, and I wanted to talk about it. I thought it would be better if you explained your behavior to Ms. Paola and apologized," the guidance counselor stated.

"I have nothing to apologize to her for!" Gracja shouted.

"Really?

" "Yes!"

"Okay, then, get out of here, because there's no point in talking," said Ms. Róża. Gracja quickly got up and left. The bell just rang. Gracja hurried to the math room. Renia was already there with her backpack.

"Tell me!" she said, handing her backpack.

Gracja quickly cut her entire stay with the guidance counselor short. Renata laughed it all off and said one thing...

"Monkey!"

The girls went to the art room. The lesson was organized. The rest of the day passed slowly and boringly.

After school, Gracja, as usual, walked Renata. At the bus stop, Elizka was standing with some girl.

"Hey! Why weren't you at school?" Renata asked the girl standing next to Elizka. Gracja noticed that the girl was Zuzka.

"Uh, never mind. I'll tell you later."

Gracja felt strange. She could feel Zuzka's malicious gaze on her.

"You know what, I'll go now. Mom told me to come back early," Gracja lied. She wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible.

"Can't you stay a while longer?" Elizka asked.

"Sorry, but I really have to go."

"See you tomorrow," Renia said. Gracja waved to her friend and headed home.

Her mother was inside, working on a crossword puzzle as usual.

"Hi Mom!" Gracja said, entering the kitchen.

"Are you hungry?" her mother asked.

"Very much so!"

"I'll make something to eat right away. What do you want?"

"I don't know...

" "How about we order pizza?" Mom suggested.

"Okay!" Gracja exclaimed happily. Mom went to the living room and called for pizza. The delivery guy arrived shortly after.

Full, Gracja went off to do her homework. The rest of the day flew by, and before she knew it, it was dark and late. So, as usual, she went to the bathroom and took a cold shower. She brushed her teeth and returned to her room. She looked at her phone...no text message, neither from Marlena nor Daniel. Well, they probably don't have time, Gracja thought. She lay down comfortably on the bed and covered herself with the blanket. The girl's mother came into the room.

"Are you sleeping?" she asked.

"No...

" "Oh, I want to talk to you."

"Speak well," Gracja said, sitting down. "

I have to go on a business trip on Friday," Mom said, "and I'll be gone the whole weekend."

"Why? Do you have to go?" Gracja asked. Her mother nodded. Gracja was sad about this. She thought that at least her mother would stay home this weekend.

When her mother left, she turned out the light. She started thinking. She decided that if her mother wasn't there, it might not be so bad. She'd invite a few people. Daniela...

She didn't fall asleep until after midnight. When she got up in the morning, she stretched for a long time.

"I'm going out!" she shouted to her mother. Her mother came over and closed the door. Gracja went to get Kaja. Kaja, as usual, was already standing, waiting for her. Renata wasn't at the school yet, but she quickly found herself there.

"Hi," she said to Gracja. "

Hey," Gracja replied, smiling sleepily. The girls slowly walked to the math room. The class was quiet throughout the entire lesson. Not because they were afraid of the teacher, but because everyone was still sleepy.

The lessons went by quickly. After the last one, Renata, like last week, went off somewhere, leaving Gracja alone. The girl went to the locker room and started getting dressed. Some girls came in.

"Have you seen that, what's-her-name... Zuzka from 2g?" the girl said. Gracja was discreetly eavesdropping on what the girls were saying.

"And that Renata?!" another girl shouted, and they all started laughing.

"Just trash!" the first one said. Gracja couldn't take it anymore. She never let anyone insult her friends. This time, she didn't let it go.

"What exactly do you have against Renata?" she asked, approaching the group of girls. One gave her a dirty look. Gracja guessed it was the famous Squirrel. All pink.

"What are you doing here? You little shit, get the fuck out of here!" the Squirrel shouted.

"Why?!" Gracja screamed. The girl looked at her and handed her backpack to her friend.

"You want to get shot, you brat?!" the pink girl asked, still screaming. Gracja threw down her backpack. The rest of the girls took a few steps away from Gracja and Wiewióra. Gracja knew a fight was about to break out...

The girls looked deeply into each other's eyes and...

"What's going on here?" the locker room attendant asked. "I need to get out of here now! "

The girls quickly left the locker rooms. Gracja followed right behind them.

"You'll see, you bitch! You'll remember me!" Wiewióra hissed at Gracja. Gracja ignored her and walked out of the school indifferently. She went straight home. She didn't care about this Wiewióra at all. After all, what could she do to her?!

The girl entered the apartment, unlocking the door with her key. As she entered, she heard some clicking sounds.

"Is anyone here?" she asked. Her father emerged from the office. Gracja didn't know what to say. He looked at her and said, "

I came to get my things.

" "Why are you telling me this?" "I don't care," Gracja said and went to her room. Her father followed her.

"Paola told me she's teaching you German," her father said.

"So?!" Gracja asked ironically. "I don't understand why you're telling me this at all! I don't care about you, some scumbag!

" "What are you talking about?!" her father shouted. Gracja didn't answer. She grabbed her cell phone and started typing. Her father left the room and went back to packing his things.

After less than an hour, Gracja heard her father leaving. When she was sure he had left, she went to the kitchen. She ate something and returned to her room. She looked at her cell phone. There was one missed call from Marlena. She went to the living room and called a friend. They talked for a long time. After the conversation, Gracja had nothing to do. She heard her cell phone ring from her room. She ran and noticed she had received a text message: "HI:* HOW ARE YOU? WHAT ARE YOU DOING? RESPOND. DANIEL." The girl quickly replied. They were texting until Gracja blurted out, "YOU KNOW, MY PARENTS WILL BE GONE ALL WEEKEND. FROM FRIDAY MORNING UNTIL LATE SUNDAY..." Daniel immediately reacted, "SERIOUSLY? EXPECT ME ON FRIDAY AROUND 8 PM... I'LL BE AT YOUR HOUSE FOR A LONG TIME ;) WHAT DO YOU THINK?" Gracja read it and her heart started beating faster. She was glad that Daniel liked her. He might be joking, but jokes like that are actually nice, the girl thought. She replied that it was no problem, but how would Zuzka react to it? Daniel didn't reply.

Before midnight, Gracja went to bed. She packed for tomorrow and got comfortable.

Around 2 AM, she was woken by her mother's arrival, but she quickly fell asleep...

Gracja got ready and went to school.

After History, Gracja decided to tell Renata about yesterday's incident with the Squirrel.

"Renia, listen. Remember you telling me about the Squirrel?

" "Yes, I remember, so what?" Renata asked.

"You see, yesterday in the locker room I overheard her and her friends talking about you and Zuzka. I couldn't just leave it like that...

" "And what did you do?!" Renata asked, surprised.

"What do you mean?! I went up to them and asked what they had against you. And I had a slight falling out with Squirrel," Gracja explained. Renata's eyes widened.

"But what exactly did she tell you?"

"That I was a bitch and to piss off," Gracja grimaced. "And she wanted to fight me, but the locker room attendant came over.

" "Girl, what are you getting yourself into?! You didn't have to do that. Now you're going to get in trouble because of me," Renata said worriedly. "

Don't worry about me. I'm not afraid of that pink lofra. I can handle them.

" "But she might beat you up! She might do it when you least expect it!" Renata stated.

"So what? I'm always ready!" Gracja said confidently. Renata smiled slightly, but she knew nothing good would come of it.

The girls were already standing outside the computer lab. Next to them was class 2f. Gracja saw Daniel from a distance. The girl stared at Daniel for a long time. However, he didn't look at her once. The bell rang, and the girls entered the classroom. "

Good morning," the teacher said. "

Good morning," the girls replied in unison. They stood by the blackboard and looked around the room.

"In a moment, I'll seat you according to my whim," the teacher said, smiling mysteriously. "But first, let me introduce myself. My name is Lilia Opacz, and I'll be teaching you computer science. I'll look in the journal in a moment, and each of the girls will show themselves to me."

The teacher opened a large, green, not-so-glamorous journal.

"Elżbieta Argońska," Ms. Lilia read. Elka stepped in front of the teacher. The teacher told her to sit at the last computer. Gracja took a moment to count how many computers there were. It turned out there were 10 of them, and there were 14 girls in the class.

"Gracja Sarkwińska," the teacher read again. "You'll have to sit with a friend. Hmm, and that will be... Zuzanna Sokolska," the woman stated. Gracja looked at Renata. She didn't know what to say. Fortunately, Zuzka wasn't at school, but Gracja knew she wouldn't get along with her computer-sharing partner in the computer lab...
