After all the girls were seated, the teacher announced they had time for themselves. Each one was visiting websites, blogs, etc. Gracja didn't know what to look for. She wasn't into browsing websites and reading about other people's lives. That's why she didn't have internet at home. She had internet in her old town, but she didn't need it now.
After computer science, she took English. They did exercises. The teacher spoke a lot in English, but Gracja didn't mind. She had gotten straight A's and spoke English almost perfectly. After English, she took chemistry, and after chemistry, PE. In the locker room, Renata started a conversation.
"Gracja, maybe we should sign up for a section? Basketball or handball?" Renia suggested.
"Hmm, not a bad idea. Maybe handball?
" "Great choice," Agnieszka interjected. "
Thanks. So, what do you think about handball?" Gracja asked. Renata, after a moment of thought, replied.
"Okay!"
The girls went to PE. They had exercises at the gym. Bikes, weights, and other such things. After the lesson, Mr. Piotr asked.
"So, are there any interested in volleyball, or maybe basketball?
" "I wanted to ask when basketball is?" Weronika asked. The teacher looked at a small notebook.
"Mondays and Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m.," he confirmed.
"And handball?" Gracja asked.
"Handball is on Wednesdays and Fridays at 5 p.m.," the teacher said. Renata spoke to Elka to ask what time they had classes those days, and a moment later she said,
"Then please sign me and Gracja up for handball."
Mr. Piotr quickly wrote down all the names in the appropriate boxes and sent the girls to the locker room.
"Training starts next week!" he shouted as he left. The girls quickly changed and went to the locker room. It was chilly outside.
"You don't have to walk me out today. My sister will be picking me up soon," Renata said.
"Oh, okay. But I'll stand with you and wait," Gracja stated. Renata nodded and smiled warmly. "How old is your sister?"
"20. She only got her driver's license a few weeks ago. Her parents bought her a baby. Of course, she contributed a bit too. I've never ridden with her before," Renata admitted. "Oh, it's coming !"
Gracja looked ahead. Indeed, something small, yellow was driving...
"That's cool!" Gracja declared. "
Great color! Well, I'm off. See you tomorrow," Renata said, running down the stairs. Gracja stood and waited for the baby to leave. Then she went home.
"I'm here!" Gracja shouted as usual as she entered the apartment. She heard her mother's voice coming from the kitchen. So she went to her
mother. "Eat your dinner," her mother said. Gracja obediently served herself a meal and began to eat. "
I'm leaving tomorrow morning," her mother said. Gracja nodded because she had a full mouth - I hope you can handle it...
"Sure," Gracja said, swallowing her food.
Once she finished, she went to her room and started doing her homework.
That evening, she received a text from Marlena. The girls texted for a long time, but Marlena wrote that she was going to bed. Gracja did the same. She laid her head on the pillow and soon fell asleep.
In the morning, her mother woke her.
"I'm going. I'll be there on Sunday evening," she said. Gracja got up quickly. She gave her mother a kiss on the cheek and went back to sleep. But she couldn't fall asleep again. She looked at the clock. It was already 7:10. She quickly got out of bed and started getting ready for school.
She managed to leave at her usual time. Kaja was standing in front of her staircase.
"Hey!" Gracja shouted. Kaja looked at her friend and replied quietly.
"Hi...
" Kaja was silent the entire way. Gracja rambled on, but finally couldn't hold it in.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
"So you don't know anything?!" Kaja asked, surprised.
"What don't I know?!" "
Yesterday, Renata and her sister... had an accident," Kaja said sadly. Gracja stopped, unable to believe it. After all, Gracja had seen Renata getting into her sister's car yesterday. She couldn't believe it happened right after Gracja had seen them. It was terrible...
