Slave Cemetery

Before and during the excavation work for the World Trade Center and other structures in the area, the bodies of at least 419 colonial-era African and American slaves were exhumed. In October 2003, they were reburied nearby. The funerals also included the remains of other slaves who were also found at this site in 1991.

Historians say these slaves were brought to lower New York during colonial times and were treated very badly. Young children, teenagers and adults were brought here from Africa and forced to work hard, tortured and killed. The killings were often carried out by hanging, mostly in what is now known as the New York Financial Center. They were buried inside and around the World Trade Center area.

The hunger and torment of slaves lasted for many generations. Over the centuries, the area around "Zero Point" was inflamed with the energy of people who were badly treated, tortured and killed. The energy was never released and it was very negative as the Financial Center started to grow and prosper and people lost or gained money. As financial transactions were made (sometimes honestly, sometimes not), the negative energy in this area grew stronger. The area surrounding the World Trade Center has become an overwhelming dark magnet. Hatred, misery, despair, and human suffering have grown over the centuries. It has never been cleansed or released.
