## **CHAPTER 14 – THE TRUTH OF THE HOUSE**

The house shook violently, as if someone had shaken it from foundation to roof.
The red light emanating from Julia's hand reflected off the walls, creating eerie, shimmering shadows. Every corner of the room seemed to have a life of its own – the floor rippled, the walls twisted into impossible shapes, and the ceiling pulsated with the rhythm of the house's heart.

Marek pulled Julia behind him toward the stairs, which suddenly began to look like winding, curved snakes.

"We must find the **heart of the house**!" Marek shouted. "Only there can we end what began long ago!"

Julia, still trembling, stared at the walls, which seemed to be alive. Shadows of the old figures of the previous owners danced around them, whispering incomprehensible words.

"What is this place?" she whispered.

"The house... **is alive**. It's not empty," Marek replied. "It holds the memories of everyone who was here. And we… we entered its depths."

The stairs led them deeper into the basement, which now looked completely different than before.
The walls were covered in spiral patterns that pulsed rhythmically, as if trying to **communicate something to Julia**.
"Are these… symbols of protection?" she asked, examining the glow that seemed to react to her presence.
"I don't know…" Marek replied. "But the fact that they react to you is no coincidence."

Finally, they reached a vast hall at the heart of the basement.
The floor was black and gleaming like glass, and in the center hovered a **fiery ball of light**.
"This… the heart of the house," Marek whispered.

The being that had previously taken the face of Julia's mother stood before her.
"Give her back!" she roared. "It's mine!"

Julia raised her hands, and the red light connected with the fiery ball at the heart of the house.
"Marek... I can stop him," she whispered. "If I connect my light with his heart... I might destroy what has been nesting here for years."

"Julia... watch out!" Marek shouted, but it was too late.

The ball in the center of the basement erupted with a glare that pierced their eyes.

The house roared, the screams of the past echoing through all the walls, and the shadows of the owners, drawn into the house, floated in the air, swirling like mad.

The creature lunged at Julia, but its light was stronger.

"No!" she screamed. "You will hold no one else!"

The red rays from her hands penetrated the creature's body.

It screamed, its body convulsing, and slowly began to **dissolve into thin air** until only silence remained.

The house shook one last time.
The walls stopped pulsating.
The floor became stable.
And suddenly, as if freed from the weight of years, silence reigned.

Marek took Julia in his arms.

"We did it..." he whispered. "He... he's calm."

Julia looked at the heart of the house, which was now a simple ball of stone in the center of the basement.
"But... all of that really happened..." she said, her voice trembling.

"Yes," Marek replied. "But now... we can live."

Up above, the wind died. The cliff stopped howling. The waves echoed the calm rhythm of the sea.
The cliff house still stood, large and gloomy, but now it was no longer threatening.

Julia managed to restore balance.

And though she still felt the shadows of the past, she knew one thing: **they had survived. And together they would be able to face any dark secret**.
