# **Chapter 1 of the new series – The Lost Laboratory on the Outskirts**

Fog enveloped the outskirts of Old Town, and the streetlights barely pierced the heavy night veil. Jacob, Argo, and his trusty ally approached an abandoned building that had been overlooked by the locals for years. The building looked like an ordinary factory, but dangerous secrets lurked within its walls.

"This place… is no ordinary warehouse," the ally muttered, glancing at the cracked door and warped windows. “People say things happened here that were better left unknown.”

Jakub nodded and looked at Argo. The dog sniffed the air, paws treading carefully on the damp sidewalk.

“Argo, first,” he whispered.

The door creaked as they opened. The interior was vast, and the air smelled of musty chemicals. Scattered bottles, rusty tools, and pieces of machinery created a maze of obstacles. Every footstep echoed, and the shadows in the corners seemed to move with their own lives.

“Look at this,” the ally pointed to a pile of documents. “It looks like someone was conducting secret experiments here… and not just chemical ones.”

Suddenly, footsteps echoed off the building. A hooded figure emerged from the shadows, swift and silent, poised to flee or attack. Argo lunged, knocking the intruder down, and Jakub and the ally rushed to assist. The fight was violent and chaotic—metal clashed against metal, screams echoed off the blank walls, and fear and adrenaline filled the air.

After the fight, the heroes discovered a hidden door leading to the underground part of the laboratory. The tunnel led deep into the earth, where crates of documents, chemical samples, and photographs hinted at new, dangerous experiments being conducted by an unknown group. Each piece of the puzzle revealed fragments of plans that could threaten the entire city.

"This is just the beginning," Jakub said, leafing through the documents. "There's something bigger hidden in this laboratory than we thought."

Argo rested his head on Jakub's leg, sensing that the threat wasn't over yet, and that something lurked in the darkness of the underground that could change the city forever.
