# **EPILOGUE

Light after Darkness**

The city had finally regained peace.

Not the superficial kind, obscured by everyday noise—but the true, slow breathing of a city that could finally believe that justice was possible.

Jakub stood on the balcony of his apartment, observing the illuminated streets. Argo lay at his feet, eyes half-closed but alert.

They no longer had to fight for every second of survival, but they still felt the weight of the night that had left marks on their souls.

Marek Olbrycht returned to police work, albeit under different rules—now he served as a consultant on difficult cases and mentored junior officers.

His experience, knowledge, and courage saved Kamiński's life and allowed them to close the Radecki case once and for all.

Kamiński slowly came back to life. The trauma hadn't disappeared, but now he had a chance for a new beginning. Safety had been restored, and the secrets that had kept him in the shadows for years were revealed.

Radecki and Barabasz were sentenced.

Not to simple punishment, but to justice meted out by law. Radecki, imprisoned in marble cells, tried to maintain his dignity, but his gaze betrayed fear and the understanding that the control he had over the lives of others had ended irrevocably. Barabasz, enormous and menacing, now sat in isolation, reliant only on his own past.

Jakub looked at Argo. The dog twitched its ears, as if understanding that this was the end of their shared mission, but also the beginning of something new.

"You know, man," Jakub said, petting the dog's head, "sometimes I think the hardest part isn't catching the criminals, but surviving in a world that knows no mercy."

Argo sighed softly, moving closer. His gaze held a wisdom and loyalty that surpassed human understanding.

They were a team that had gone through fire, darkness, and madness, and emerged unscathed.

The city breathed a sigh of relief. People continued living, unaware that the underworld held a hell that could drown them all.

But the truth Jakub, Argo, Marek, and Kamiński had discovered remained.

And though life didn't return to normal immediately, they knew they had each other.

And the night that had once been filled with riddles, secrets, and death was now just a memory—a shadow dispelled by the light of justice.

Jakub looked up at the sky.

"The adventures aren't over yet, my friend. But now we can rest… at least for a while."

Argo laid his head on his lap.

Silence and peace enveloped the apartment.

But even in that silence, readiness remained. Readiness to protect, to fight, to survive.

Because Commissioner Jakub and his dog Argo knew one thing:

**They would always be ready when darkness came again.**
