Great! Here's **Chapter 6**, where the tension mounts—Jakub and Argo delve deeper into the killer's traps, and the threat becomes real and immediate. --

## **Chapter 6: Traps in the Shadows**

The night was black as ink. Fog, heavy and damp, enveloped the city, and every step Commissioner Jakub Nowak and Argo took echoed through the narrow streets. After the events in the warehouse, Jakub knew one thing: the enemy had anticipated their every move, and every subsequent lead was a trap.

"Argo, we have to be ready for anything," he whispered, staring into the darkness. The dog lifted its head and slowly moved ahead, sniffing the air, its body tense like a spring.

### **The Trail Leads to an Old Factory**

The documents found in the warehouse pointed to one place: an abandoned factory on the outskirts of town. The old brick buildings, cracked windows, and warped doors made the perfect hideaway for someone wanting to disappear into the shadows.

Jakub stopped the car a few blocks away, and Argo immediately jumped out, heading for the main entrance.

"Quiet, Argo," the commissioner whispered, grabbing his gun. "This time, traps could be everywhere."

The factory was silent, broken only by the creaking of the old floors and the sound of water dripping from the leaking roof.

--

### **First Trap**

When they reached the main hall, Argo stopped suddenly, growling low. The commissioner knew immediately: something was wrong. He felt the floor shift slightly beneath his feet.

"Trap!" he shouted, jumping to the side.

Seconds later, part of the floor collapsed, leaving a hole in the air right where Jakub had stood moments before. The dog jumped to the side and barked a warning, and the commissioner felt a cold jolt of adrenaline.

"Good boy, Argo," he said, petting the dog's head. "We wouldn't have gone any further without you."

--

### **A Shadow from the Past**

Further down the hall, in the shadows between the machines, a familiar figure appeared. Rokicki. His face was unwaveringly cold, and his eyes gleamed in the semi-darkness.

"Welcome back," he said calmly. "I see you've followed my trail. But not everyone makes it out of this place unscathed."

Jakub raised his gun, and Argo growled low. The air was tense, Rokicki's breathing the only sound breaking the silence.

"Do you want us to catch you?" Jakub asked. "Because if so, you should know we won't let you escape."

Rokicki smiled faintly and turned toward the door leading to the back of the hall.

“Well… that's where the fun begins,” he said, before disappearing into the darkness.

### **A Dangerous Chase**

Jakub followed him, with Argo leading the way. In the factory, filled with old machinery, undergrowth, and cracked floors, every step was risky. Suddenly, they heard a crack, and another floor gave way beneath the commissioner's feet. The dog quickly jumped in beside him, saving him from falling.

After a few minutes of chasing, they reached the factory's outer courtyard, where Rokicki disappeared behind the walls. But he left behind another clue: a bag containing documents and maps that indicated future targets.

“This must be his base of operations,” Jakub said. “Now everything becomes clear: every victim, every clue, every trap—it's all part of his plan.”

Argo lifted his nose to the wind, sensing another danger.

“Okay, Argo,” the commissioner said, looking up at the night sky. “Now the real game begins.” This time, there will be no unforeseen traps.

The dog barked softly, as if confirming that they were ready to face the murderer and his web of lies and riddles.

The next chapter could introduce a **direct confrontation with the murderer**, further traps, and dramatic plot twists, where Jacob and Argo will have to use all their cunning, instinct, and courage to survive and solve the mystery.
