Great! We continue, and this time we take our heroes to the **abandoned sewers beneath the city**, where another dark and expansive mini-adventure full of suspense awaits. --

# **Chapter 35

Cold Terror in the Sewers**

After the dramatic events at the theater, Jakub, Argo, and the former actor—now an ally—set out to follow the trail of missing people and mysterious crimes. The clues led to underground sewers that had been abandoned and forgotten for years. Water dripped rhythmically from the pipes, and the air was heavy and cold, saturated with damp and a musty stench.

"Argo, quiet," Jakub whispered, approaching the first step leading into the sewer. The dog immediately calmed his breathing, but his nose remained close to the ground, sniffing.

The sewers were a maze of narrow corridors, where the echo of footsteps magnified every slight sound. Jakub could barely see a few meters ahead, and the flashlight cast long, dancing shadows on the walls. Every turn could conceal a trap, every shadow, danger.

"People who disappeared in the city were probably kept here," the ally said, glancing at the damp walls. "And something tells me we're not alone."

The dog suddenly stopped, stiffened, and the hairs on the back of Jakub's neck stood on end. A rustling sound could be heard in the distance—metal clashing against stone.

"Who's there?" Jakub shouted, his weapon at the ready.

A figure emerged from the darkness—tall, trembling, dressed in a soaked cloak. It approached slowly, and a steel baton glinted in its hands.

Argo growled menacingly and lunged at the intruder, knocking him to the ground. Jakub ran over and rolled the figure onto his back—it was one of the men who had been searching the sewers for missing victims for years. He wasn't aggressive, but frightened, as if afraid of his own shadow.

"They... they're here..." the man whispered. "We shouldn't look for them... They... are waiting..."

Jakub frowned.

"Who? Are they waiting?" he asked.

"I can't..." the man trembled, looking away. "What's happening here... This isn't for humans."

Suddenly, a sound echoed off the canal walls. Someone was moving in the darkness—more than one person. Argo sensed danger, his growl sounding like a warning. Jakub moved on, leading the group through narrow passages where every step could be a trap.

After a dozen or so minutes, they reached the central chamber of the canals. The water was knee-deep, and the walls were cracked. A metallic smell hung in the air, and fragments of abandoned objects could be seen underwater—shoes, bags, traces of past crimes.

"This is where," the ally said, "this is where someone hid them."

At that moment, two figures emerged from the darkness. They were no ordinary intruders—their movements were swift, brutal. One lunged at Jakub, the other at his ally. Argo immediately jumped between them, throwing himself at the attacking Jakub. The fight was brutal: the slippery floor, water splashing around, and the echoes of blows echoing through the tunnels.

Jakub kneed the first intruder in the stomach, knocking him down. Argo knocked down the second intruder and bit his shoulder, forcing him to surrender. The ally regained his breath, and together they searched the chamber.

Under a pile of old crates, they found something shocking: a living man, barely conscious, hidden in a damp corner. Beside him lay documents and notes that linked all the disappearances in the city to Radecki's mysterious rituals and activities.

"That's him... the witness," Jakub said. “And it looks like we finally have the full picture.”

Argo sat down next to him, keeping his gaze fixed on the dark end of the chamber, as if sensing someone else might appear.

“Now we have to get him out of here,” Jacob said. “And discover the truth before the darkness claimed more victims.”

The sewers were cold, dark, and dangerous, but Jacob knew that with Argo and an ally, they could overcome any shadow.

And so a new part of their investigation began—in a maze of dank, dark sewers, where every step was a fight for survival, and every shadow hid a past that needed to be revealed.

If you want, I can now write a **continuation of this mini-adventure**, in which the heroes uncover another dark secret in the sewers, confront the criminals, and find more evidence connecting all the crimes in the city.

Would you like me to do it now?”
