In the living room, Lena noticed something strange in the wall by the fireplace.
“Adam… look…” she whispered, pointing to a subtle crack.
Adam approached and ran his hand over the surface.
“It looks like… a door hidden in the wall,” he murmured.
Without hesitation, they began to examine the mechanism. After a few pulls, the wall slid open, revealing a narrow hallway, dark and damp.
“Where did this come from?” Lena asked.
“The house was never just what you see on the outside,” Adam replied. “This is just the beginning.”
The hallway led down to the basement, which they hadn’t discovered during their earlier search. The air was thick, and every footstep echoed.
Further down, they spotted old furniture, boxes of documents, and Anna’s notes. On one of the shelves lay a journalistic archive—full of photos of former residents, maps of the house, and spiral symbols.
"All of this… must have been here for years," Lena muttered.
Adam picked up one of the documents: a photo of Anna standing on a cliff, with a mysterious man in the background, whose face was invisible.
"Who is that?" he asked, his voice trembling.
"I don't know…" Lena felt her heart pound in her chest. "But I think it's… him. The one who's still here."

# **Chapter 20 – Echoes of the Past**
Looking through the documents, they came across letters addressed to Anna, written by the townspeople. All of them were full of warnings and pleas to leave the house.
*"Don't stay here. He's waiting."*
*"Don't look in the mirror after dark."*
*"Don't listen to the quiet whispers, they'll pull you in."*
"It looks like… a curse," Lena said.
"Or a warning," Adam added. "But who left it?"
As they read the last letter, the air in the basement quivered. There was a faint rustling sound, as if someone were watching them.
"Adam…" Lena whispered. "Do you hear that?"
He nodded, holding her hand tightly.
From the darkness of the hallway came an echo—their own voices repeated in a strange, distorted way.
"That's impossible…" Adam said, trying to remain calm. "The house… it's playing with our senses."

# **Chapter 21 – Trapped in a Spiral**
In the hallway, between the old crates, Lena noticed a fresh spiral pattern etched into the wood of the floor. "Adam… it's a spiral symbol… like the one on the wall," she said.
"It looks like it leads… where?" Adam replied.
They decided to follow the pattern. The corridor twisted, narrowed, and the air grew heavier. At one point, they spotted a door with a spiral symbol burned into it.
"This must be the center," Lena whispered.
"The center of what?" Adam asked, though he already knew the answer.
When they opened the door, they found themselves in a small room filled with old mirrors. Each one reflected their silhouettes, but in each reflection, they could see a figure standing just behind them.
"No… that's impossible," Lena whispered. "Are they reflections… or something more?"
The air thickened, and the figures in the mirror began to move independently of them.
"We have to get out of here!" Adam shouted, pulling her toward the door.
But when it tried to retreat, the door vanished. They found themselves in the center of the spiral, trapped by the house.
"This is a test… or a trap," Lena said, trembling. "The house… wants to break us."

# **Chapter 22 – The Power of Love and Courage**
They understood that the only way to escape the spiral's trap was to join forces. Lena grabbed Adam's hands, looking him straight in the eyes.
"We have to trust each other," she said. "Only together can we get through this."
Adam nodded, and together they began to slowly move around the room, sensing the rhythm of the spiral. Their every step was synchronized, their every breath shared.
The figures in the mirror began to fade, and the air became lighter.
"Hold me tight," Lena whispered.
The house shook, the floors and walls creaked, but they remained together. Their trust, love, and courage were the keys that unlocked the house's riddle.
Finally, the door reappeared. They emerged into the fresh air, onto the cliff.
The waves crashed calmer against the rocks, and the wind brought a sense of cleansing.
"We did it..." Lena whispered, embracing Adam.
"Yes... together," he replied, kissing her.
The Cliff House remained silent. Their courage and love had endured, and the dark mystery had found its solution.
