Slaves' Cemetery

Before and during excavation for the World Trade Center and other structures in the area, the remains of at least 419 African and American slaves from colonial times were exhumed. In October 2003, they were reburied nearby. These burials also included the remains of other slaves who were also found at the site in 1991.

Historians say these slaves were brought to lower New York during colonial times and were treated severely. Young children, teenagers, and adults were brought here from Africa and forced to perform hard labor, tortured, and killed. Killings were often carried out by hanging, primarily in the area now known as the New York Financial Center. They were buried in and around the World Trade Center site.

The starvation and torment of the slaves continued for generations. The area around "Ground Zero" festered for centuries with the energy of people who were mistreated, tortured, and killed. This energy was never released, and it was very negative when the Financial Center began to grow and prosper, and people lost or gained money. As financial transactions were made (sometimes honestly, sometimes not), the negative energy in the area strengthened. The area surrounding the World Trade Center became an overwhelming magnet of darkness. Hatred, misery, despair, and human suffering grew over the centuries. This energy was never cleansed or released
