# **Week 1 – Introduction to "Cliff House"

### **Day 1 – Welcome to Cliff House**

Welcome to the world of "Cliff House" – a place where the silence is thick and the darkness seems alive. This story is a blend of psychological horror and mystery, where the characters' emotions, fears, and a subtle love story come to the fore.

The story takes place in a small seaside town where an old, infamous house stands on a cliff. A young couple, Lena and Marek, arrive there, seeking escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and a fresh start. However, the house holds secrets that cannot be easily ignored.

A quote that perfectly captures the atmosphere of the novel:

> "The house watched them up every creaking staircase, as if it knew their innermost thoughts."

In this first post, I'd like to invite you to share your first impressions. How do you imagine such a house? Do you prefer its dark, austere interior or a more mysterious, unsettling aura on the outside?

Today's mini-scene:

Lena and Marek enter the house for the first time. The silence is so intense it hurts her ears. Lena shudders, running her hand along the stair railing. "Marek, has anyone ever died here...?" she asked.

**Task for you:** Describe your first impressions after reading this passage in the comments. What did you feel? Fear, curiosity, or perhaps excitement?

### **Day 2 – Meet the Characters**

Lena and Marek are a couple looking for a quiet place to live in Cliff House, but it quickly becomes clear that peace is a luxury they don't have here.

**Lena** is sensitive, intuitive, and emotional. He sees things others don't see and feels the presence of forces that shouldn't exist. **Marek**, on the other hand, is sensible, pragmatic, and rational – he tries to find logical explanations for the strange events that begin to fill the house.

Mini-scene:

Lena glanced over her shoulder. Was it the wind that moved the curtain, or something more? Marek tried to calm her, but he himself sensed that the silence was unusual.

Quote:

> "I can't stop feeling that the house is watching us, rather than us watching it."

**Question for readers:** How would you react in such a situation? Would you ignore the disturbing signs, or would you try to uncover the truth?

### **Day 3 – Mysterious House**

The Cliff House isn't just the setting – it's practically the hero of the story itself. Its high walls, creaking stairs, old wooden floors, and dark corners conceal more than just dust and memories of the previous owners.

Mini-scene:

Lena walks down the hallway. Her every step echoes. In one of the rooms, she notices a shadow moving contrary to the light. "Marek... can you see that?"

Quote:

> "The walls were full of secrets, and every corridor seemed to whisper old memories."

**Task for readers:** Draw or describe your own version of the house – how would you see it? Where would terror lurk, and where would peace?

### **Day 4 – First Puzzles**

The first signs of unease appear in Cliff House: strange symbols, whispered voices, and mysterious footprints on the floor.

Mini-scene:

That evening, Lena heard her name. Clearly, but it wasn't a woman's or man's voice. Marek tried to calm her, but they both sensed that something in the house was "alive."

Quote:

> "She heard her name, but it wasn't a woman's voice... or a man's."

**Mini-quiz:** Which symbol in the house do you find most terrifying: the spiral, the cracked mirror, or the footprints?

--

### **Day 5 – Love in the Shadow of Terror**

As the threat grows, you can see how fear and uncertainty affect the characters' relationship. Love and mutual support become their only shield.

Mini-scene:

Lena squeezed his hand tighter, though her heart was pounding. "We're still together—and that's the most important thing."

Quote:

> "In Marek's arms, she felt safe, even though the whole house seemed to be screaming in a silent voice."

**Task for readers:** Describe your own moment of courage and closeness in a difficult situation in the comments.
