Easter Cut-Out Cookies
Ingredients:
2 3/4 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 large egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
2–3 tablespoons milk (if needed)
Decorating sugar or icing (optional)
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
2. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light.
3. Add egg, vanilla, and almond extract; mix well.
4. Gradually add dry ingredients, mixing until dough
forms.
5. If dough is dry, add milk 1 tablespoon at a time.
6. Chill dough for 30 minutes.
7. Roll dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch
thick.
8. Cut out shapes with cookie cutters.
9. Place cut cookies on a baking sheet.
10. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes until edges
are lightly golden.
11. Let cookies cool; decorate with sugar or icing if
desired.
