Gandharvas - a class of semi-divine beings, celestial musicians and singers, lovers of nymphs, apsaras. Guardians of fertility and eroticism.

Garudi – in Indian tradition, a thieving bird: it stole the divine plant some and offered it to humans. It nests in the Cosmic Tree, engaging in eternal battle with the serpent, whose flesh it feeds on, while its enemy eats its chicks.

Garuda, Mahabharata – a golden half-man, half-bird creature that in Indian mythology serves as the "mount" of the god Vishnu. This enormous bird with fiery feathers is associated with the sun, fire (Agni, Ti), death (Yama), and the phoenix.

Gautama - legendary Rishi, sage, holy man.

Hayagriva - one of the daitas who stole the four Vedas from the mouth of the sleeping Brahma.

Kaliya – a poisonous five-headed snake that plagued the sacred Yamuna River. Young Krishna subdued Kaliya by dancing on his head and driving him and all his companion snakes into the ocean.

Kalkin - seen in the form of a white horse, the tenth avatar of Vishnu, the savior awaited by Hindus and who will arrive at the end of the world.

Kalpa - the basic cosmic cycle.

Kamsa - the wicked king of Mathura and enemy of Krishna.

Karna - the great hero of the Mahabharata. He was born wearing a wonderful suit of armor and magical earrings; these items made him invulnerable to wounds.

Maitreya - the Buddha who is to come in the future and in the meantime resides in heaven as a Bodhisattva.

Mahisha - "Buffalo"; a demon in the form of a buffalo. Unable to defeat him, he took over the world and banished the gods from heaven. He was killed by Durga, pierced by Shiva's trident.

Makara - a fantastic, hybrid aquatic animal with characteristics of a crocodile, dolphin, fish and some reptiles.

Mandara - the legendary pestle mountain.
