Picus – son of Saturn, father of Fasun, king of the city of Laurentum. He was transformed into a woodpecker by Circe, whose love he spurned for the nymph Canens.
Romulus - son of Rhea Silvia and Mars. He and his brother Remus were thrown into the Tiber by Amulius. Rescued, they were suckled by a she-wolf. They founded a new city, and during a quarrel over its name, Romulus killed Remus, named the city Roma, and became its first king. Later worshipped as a deity - Quirinus.
