Eileithyia – Patroness of women in labor and the postpartum period. She determined the duration of labor pains and the moment of delivery. Daughter of Zeus and Hera. Hera often forbade her from attending the births of Zeus's numerous offspring, thus prolonging the mothers' agony. For example, when Zeus conceived Artemis and Apollo, Hera forced her to wander the world in search of a place to give birth. A similar situation arose with Heracles. Eileithyia delayed his birth, preventing him from assuming the throne of Mycenae. According to one version, she was considered the mother of Eros, who was born at the same time as Gaia.

Eos – daughter of the Titans Hyperion and Theia. Sister of Selene and Helios, and mother of the winds Zephyrus, Boreas, Notos, and the Morning Star and the Stars, thanks to Astraeus. Her pair of steeds are named Shining and Radiant. Because her siblings' chariots are drawn by four steeds, this indicates the Sun god and Moon goddess's higher position than the Dawn. In Roman mythology, she is called Aurora. One day, Aphrodite, upon finding Eos in bed with Eros, cursed her with constant lust for mortals. First, she fell in love with Orion, then Cephalus, Cleitos, and finally Ganymede and Tithonus. She asked Zeus to grant him immortality. They settled in Ethiopia, where Eos gave birth to sons – Memnon and Emathion. After several years, Tithonus began to age, for Eos had not asked for eternal youth. The kind goddess did not abandon her beloved in his time of need. Finally, the gods took pity on them and transformed Tithonus into a cricket.
