What are ghosts?
Considering their form, they are usually considered immaterial beings, intermediaries between humans and God. Often animated (in ancient times), they personified natural forces and phenomena, as well as forests, fields, rivers, and so on. In Christianity, Judaism, and Islam, a certain division was made—namely, good ("pure") and evil ("impure," devils, demons) spirits were distinguished. Other religions also include the concepts of guardian spirits and deceptive spirits.
Ghosts and the souls of the dead
If we narrowed the scope of our considerations, we could assign the term "ghost" to the souls of deceased people remaining in the afterlife, but also to those who return to Earth for various purposes for a certain period of time (though it is most often these souls that are currently referred to as ghosts or apparitions, forgetting the rest). But what would you say to the idea that some ghosts are merely recordings, repeatable – like a videotape? It was assumed that ghosts could be a characteristic "recording" dependent on environmental or other conditions that must be met for the apparition to manifest. These conditions must match those that existed at the time the recording was created – otherwise, visualization will not occur.
Repeatable "record"
Such a record is usually created while the person (our apparition) is still alive. For example, one of the ghosts – a woman (I can't quite pinpoint her name) – runs through the courtyard after committing a crime. It's evening, so for her to appear in the future, it must also be evening, summer (if that was the season), rain, fog, etc. Therefore, some apparitions can only be seen at certain times of day or year – that's when the "tape plays."
Changing the "listening" conditions
Another interesting thing is that if something changes in the area where the apparition appears, for example, the floor is raised by 10 cm, the ghost will appear to have no feet—they will be below the floor. If it's a wooden storage unit, the ghost will simply run through it, disappearing from view for a moment and then reappearing.
Is it worth being afraid?
That's it—unfortunately, it's short. But remember, if you ever see an apparition, maybe you shouldn't be afraid? Perhaps you're watching a fragment of a film "recorded" a long time ago?
