Ingredients:
1 cup almond flour
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup egg whites
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon rose water
Green food coloring (optional)
Filling: pistachio butter or rose-flavored buttercream
Instructions:
1. Begin by setting your oven to 300°F (150°C) and
prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a mixing bowl, blend the almond flour and
powdered sugar thoroughly.
3. In another bowl, beat the egg whites and cream of
tartar until they start to froth, then slowly incorporate the
granulated sugar. Keep beating until stiff peaks appear.
4. Gently stir in the rose water and, if you like, some green
food coloring into the egg mixture.
5. Carefully fold the almond flour mixture into the
whipped egg whites until they are well mixed.
6. Place the mixture into a piping bag and create small
circles on the lined baking sheet.
7. Allow the macarons to rest at room temperature for
about 30 to 60 minutes until a firm skin develops on top.
8. Bake them for 15 to 20 minutes, or until they have
puffed up and are no longer sticky to the touch.
9. Once cooled, fill the macarons with pistachio butter or
rose-flavored buttercream.
10. Put the macarons together and savor each bite.
