What's left
The experiment with Philip worked so well that the Toronto organization decided to conduct another with a completely different group of people and a new fictional character. Within five weeks, they had established "contact" with their new "spirit," Lilitz, a spy from French-speaking Canada. Other similar experiments conjured up characters like Sebastian, a medieval alchemist, and Axel, a man from the future. While all were fictional, they all developed a unique way of transmitting messages by tapping.
Recently, in Sydney, Australia, a group conducted a similar test in the "Skippy Experiment." Six participants created the story of a fourteen-year-old Australian girl, Skippy Cartman. As is well known, Skippy communicated with the group through tapping and scratching sounds.
Conclusions
How can we conduct such experiments? While someone claims to have proven that ghosts don't exist, that such things only arise in our minds, others claim that sometimes our subconscious minds can be responsible for such phenomena. They don't prove (indeed, they can't) that ghosts don't exist.
Another view is that although Philip was fictional, Owen's group actually connected with the spirit world. A playful (or, if you prefer, demonic) spirit took advantage of these séances to "act" as Philip and exhibited the extraordinary psychokinetic phenomena recorded.
In any case, experiments have proven that paranormal phenomena are entirely real. Of course, such research leaves us with more questions than answers about the world we live in. There is only one conclusion: there are many things around us that still remain unexplained.
