love has many names part 8

The woman's face was wrinkled, her gray hair luxuriantly framed a face that surprisingly reminded her of someone, though she couldn't remember who. Her eyes were dark purple, and her lips were delicate. Her face was tanned, though the yellow hospital lights changed its color completely. Amelia, moved by the whole situation, cried; she had cried like that recently when she lost her father. She was lost in the situation she found herself in a few hours ago, and her defensive reaction was now to cry.
"I don't know if you're my grandmother, I don't know if you're my family, distant or close, and it doesn't matter to me because I'd really like to meet you. I feel like I could love you so much if Wiktor could, then I definitely could too," she said quietly, as if whispering to an unconscious woman. "You must be very happy to have such a grandson. He really loves you and is very worried about you right now..." She didn't finish because her hand slipped slightly from hers. It was clear that the woman was moving it, and for a moment Amelia thought she had closed her beautiful eyes and then opened them again. The girl, without wasting a moment, ran into the corridor
. "Doctor, please call the doctor immediately." She looked at the door and screamed even louder. "Call the doctor to room 204."
There was a real commotion in the corridor. She saw Wiktor running towards her, followed by the doctor. and several nurses, one of whom was carrying a cart full of medicines and dressings. Amelia recounted the entire incident, and the doctor began examining the woman, who was already almost fully conscious, who answered the doctor's questions with affirmative or negative movements of her head, as she was unable to speak. When the doctor finished the examination, the nurse gave the patient water and left, reminding Wiktor not to bother the old woman. Amelia felt unneeded, so she stepped aside during the examination. Now, when she saw the woman talking to her grandson, she didn't want to disturb them; they certainly had a lot to talk about. She went to the reception desk and asked that Wiktor be informed if he asked that she would be back in about an hour. She hurriedly left the building and was hit by a strong wind blowing from the street opposite the hospital. Amelia didn't care, as she liked this kind of weather, and it made her feel a little uneasy. She hugged her tighter to her. She took off the sweater she was wearing and walked forward, not even knowing how she got to the train station. She took the tickets out of her pocket, looked at them for a moment, as if she didn't want to lose them, and went to the window where she had bought them a few hours ago. She gave the tickets back to the woman who was always commenting on people who return their tickets at the last minute, as if she hadn't even been there. A bit outraged, she returned to the hospital, thinking again about Elwira, as she called her, because she didn't know what to call her.
She climbed the steps to the hospital, opened the entrance door, and immediately bumped into Wiktor.
"Where the hell have you been?" he growled. "Do you always disappear like this?" He continued shouting
. "Calm down, it should be quiet here, respect the patients if you don't respect me." She grimaced and saw that her words hurt him. However, she didn't care because the boy was taking too much liberties, acting as if he owned her. "I went to return the tickets because if you hadn't noticed, I wanted to remind you that our train to Krakow left 20 minutes ago," she said, glancing at her watch
. "Oh, I completely forgot, sorry, I didn't think of that...
" "You should have before you started shouting at me, and in a place like this." And now more calmly, she added, "I returned the tickets but I didn't buy new ones because I think you'll want to stay with Grandma for a while now, and I didn't know how long, but exactly how she feels?"
"I'll buy you a coffee and tell you everything at the bar
." "Okay, apology accepted," she smiled, and he hugged her for a moment, and they went to the bar together (...) .
"Thank you for everything
." "Me?" "But I didn't do anything.
" "If not, then Grandma woke up with you, and it's because of you that we're here and not getting to Krakow
." "It's not my fault she woke up," she replied, sipping the warm coffee from which steam was escaping.
"You'd be surprised, Grandma didn't know you were sitting next to her bed, she thought it was some nurse
." "Did she know she was in the hospital?"
-Yes, a few months before she fell into a coma, doctors diagnosed her with diabetes. About three months ago, Grandma was so weak that specialists had to keep an eye on her, and that's where she fell into a coma.
-Poor thing
. -Yes, but as I said, Grandma mentioned that she thought you were a nurse. You know, it's interesting that she heard you...
-She heard me, how is that possible
? -Well, that's very interesting, and besides, you remembered talking to her but didn't want to tell me, well, maybe one of you will tell me someday
. -Yes, maybe someday...
