Quick Apple Strudel with Puff Pastry and Vanilla Sauce 🍏🥐🍦

 



Ingredients:


**For the Strudel:**

- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed 🥐  

- 3 medium apples, peeled and sliced 🍏  

- 1/4 cup granulated sugar 🍚  

- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon 🌿  

- 1 tbsp lemon juice 🍋  

- 1 tbsp butter 🧈  

- 1 egg, beaten 🥚  

- 1 tbsp powdered sugar 🍚 (for dusting)  


**For the Vanilla Sauce:**

- 1 cup whole milk 🥛  

- 1/2 cup heavy cream 🥛  

- 1/4 cup granulated sugar 🍚  

- 1 tsp vanilla extract 🍦  

- 1 tbsp cornstarch 🧂  


Directions:


1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet

with parchment paper.  

2. In a pan, melt butter over medium heat and sauté the

apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice until soft,

about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.  

3. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface. Spread

the apple mixture along one edge of the pastry. Fold the

sides over and roll the pastry to form a log.  

4. Place the strudel on the prepared baking sheet, seam-

side down. Brush the top with the beaten egg.  

5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool

slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.  

6. For the vanilla sauce, whisk together milk, cream,

sugar, vanilla, and cornstarch in a saucepan. Heat over

medium heat, whisking constantly, until the sauce

thickens.  

7. Serve the warm strudel with vanilla sauce.
