Pistachio Crusted Feta Fries with Sweet Chili Jam 🌶️
Ingredients:
- 200g feta cheese, cut into fry-shaped sticks
- 1 cup pistachios, finely crushed
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil for frying
- 200g red chilies, deseeded and chopped (for sweet chili
jam)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt to taste
Directions:
1. In a saucepan, combine the chopped red chilies, sugar,
vinegar, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil
over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer and cook for
15-20 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat and let
the sweet chili jam cool.
2. Cut the feta cheese into thick fry-shaped sticks and pat
them dry with a paper towel.
3. Set up a breading station: Place the flour in one bowl,
beaten eggs in another, and crushed pistachios in a third.
4. Dredge each feta stick in flour, dip into the beaten
eggs, then coat evenly with crushed pistachios.
5. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-
high heat. Fry the coated feta sticks in batches for 2-3
minutes per side until golden and crispy. Remove and
drain on paper towels.
6. Serve the pistachio crusted feta fries hot with the
prepared sweet chili jam for dipping.

Tips:

experiment with different nuts like almonds for the crust.
