love has many names part 12

She woke up a few hours later. Wiktor was still awake, as he'd promised. She didn't know where she knew him, where she'd met him, or why he was so important to her. Even though she didn't remember him, she sensed he was important to her. Of course, she hadn't fallen in love with him; she loved Filip, after all, but why wasn't he here? She thought, frowning.
"What time is it?" she asked, snapping Wiktor out of his reverie.
"Oh, are you awake already? Have you rested?" He glanced at his watch. "It's 6:32 PM.
" "Wiktor, I'd like to know how long I was unconscious?"
"Mhm, my father told me you met on Monday, that's when you had the accident ." "
Did I meet your father? Do I know him?"
"Yes," he replied, and immediately returned to the previous topic. "Today is Friday, so you slept for a full three days.
" "Oh, that's not long. " "Yes,
luckily it was short, I was afraid you'd be unconscious as long as my grandmother.
" "Was your grandmother unconscious too?
" "Yes, but I can't remind you of everything, the doctor forbade me from reminding you of any details, you have to remember it yourself.
" "Mhm, I understand, I just hope that my amnesia won't last long and that everything will return to normal quickly," she said sadly, but with a hint of hope, and clumsily shifted in bed. "I don't know how well we know each other..." "
I guess quite well, since you remembered my name even though you don't remember many important details.
" "Yes," she laughed. "But tell me, do you know Filip?"
"Yes, unfortunately I know him," he grimaced and nervously walked around the room. "I mean, I don't know him personally, only from what you told me
." "Hmm, so you know his good side, although I'm not sure if he even has a bad side." She smiled, thus destroying the tension on Wiktor's face
. "Not really." He turned his back to her and looked out the window, which showed the river and its shore
. "What do you mean by that?" she asked, surprised. "
When we met," he approached her. "I found you in the park, you were in tears and...you were going through a breakup with Filip...
" "That's impossible, I don't believe you, you're lying." She shook her head as if that would at least help her. "Why are you doing this to me, why?" She looked at him with sad eyes that were slowly filling with tears. "
Forgive me, but you must have wondered why he wasn't here." That's exactly why...
-Why did we break up? Why? We were so happy...
-I'm sorry, but I can't tell you everything, you'll remember it slowly
. -Could you have told me this? - she asked, indignant, still not completely recovered from what she had heard.
-I didn't want to lie to you. What would be the point of me telling you he has exams or something equally important came up? Sooner or later you would remember when your memory came back, and I would look like an idiot
. -You're right, I'm sorry...
-Does that mean you believe me? Or do you still think I'm lying and trying to hurt you?
-I don't know why, but I trust you. That's why I had such a strange dream...
-Will you tell me?
Amelia told him everything she had dreamed and, cuddling him, fell asleep. She felt so happy, she was happy to have someone like Wiktor. She had probably already lost everything she could, and now it turns out that life had rewarded her with such a beautiful gift as Wiktor. She couldn't have imagined a better friend. He supports her constantly, tries to ease her every loss and suffering as best he can. He constantly watches over her and doesn't leave her even for a moment. God, how wonderful he is, if only I had a brother like him... she had always dreamed of one who would be a support to her... She
was supposed to leave the hospital the next day. The doctor was satisfied with the test results, and since Amelia was feeling quite well, he decided to discharge her. Wiktor came to pick her up at 10 p.m. That evening, Amelia told him to go home. He didn't want to agree, but eventually he gave in to the girl and obediently went home. She saw him and ran up to greet him. He was now wearing fresh clothes and was clean-shaven. He looked simply charming. He took her backpack and they went together to fill out his discharge papers. When they stepped outside the building, they felt a strong wind. It was incredibly gusty and knocked trash all over the square in front of the hospital
– the same wind was when I left the hospital in Łódź. She smiled at him and continued walking. Wiktor stood frozen. She turned to him and asked, surprised, "What's wrong?"
"Amelka! Remember when you were with me in the hospital? In Łódź? How happy I am." He ran up to her, hugged her, and lifted her up, spinning around. "You have no idea how happy I am
." "You're right, I've remembered something," she replied happily. "What were we doing there?"
"You have to figure it out yourself, but you see, it's not so bad," he said, opening the door of the black Mercedes.
"Great car, really great!! "
Do you like it?
" "Of course, you must be collecting a lot of chicks for it ."
"Hmm," he frowned. "Thank God I haven't hit anyone yet." "Don't
joke, you don't know what I mean." She teasingly climbed onto the hood of the car and pretended to be a girl of easy virtue...
