Ingredients
Smoked herring 450 g

Carrots 2
Beetroot 1
Egg 2
Marinated honey mushrooms 150 g
Onion 1
Mayonnaise 250 g
Salt 1 tsp
Sugar 1 tsp
Mustard 1 tsp
Apple cider vinegar 1/2 cup
Marinate finely chopped onions in apple cider vinegar diluted 1:1 with water, salt, and sugar. Dice the herring and mix with mustard and 1 tsp mayonnaise.
Layer the salad:
- 1 coarsely grated potato
- mayonnaise
- herring
- onion, thoroughly squeezed out of the marinade
- 1 coarsely grated potato
- mayonnaise
- carrots
- mayonnaise
- eggs
- mayonnaise
- mushrooms
- beets
Lightly flatten the salad with your hands and draw a mayonnaise net on top. If the fish contained caviar, mix it with the mayonnaise and garnish the salad. Refrigerate for 8-10 hours to soak.
