Dangerous trees
This article presents fascinating yet dangerous plants from South America and Madagascar, which have earned the nickname "killer trees." In his book, Harold T. Wilkins describes, among other things, the so-called "devil tree," whose branches can ruthlessly entangle and crush its prey. Other carnivorous plants attract birds with the scent of rotting flesh and trap them, sucking their blood. Legends of man-eating plants also appear in Madagascar, but modern research suggests that many of these tales may be untrue.
