Marinate the onion in advance (at least a couple of hours) by cutting it into very thin rings and drizzling with the juice of half a lemon, salt, and pepper.
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater – the flavor of the salad depends greatly on the cheese, so choose your favorite hard cheese. Finely dice the chicken fillet. Grate the eggs on a coarse grater. Finely dice the tomatoes, and season with salt and pepper.
Lay out the salad in layers: chicken, mayonnaise, onion, eggs, mayonnaise, cheese, mayonnaise, and tomatoes. It's crucial for this salad to let it sit for at least a couple of hours.
