Cheesy Steak & Queso Rice

 

Ingredients:  

- 1 lb (450g) steak, thinly sliced  

- 2 tbsp (30ml) olive oil  

- 1 tsp garlic powder  

- Salt and pepper to taste  

- 2 cups (400g) cooked rice  

- 1 cup (240ml) queso cheese sauce  

- 1/2 cup (115g) shredded cheddar cheese  

- Chopped green onions for garnish  


Instructions:  

1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the thinly sliced steak to the skillet.  

2. Season the steak with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

Sear the steak strips until browned and cooked through,

about 3-4 minutes.  

3. Stir in the cooked rice, mixing well to combine. Cook

for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat the rice through.  

4. Pour the queso cheese sauce over the rice and steak

mixture, stirring until everything is evenly coated.  

5. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of

the mixture. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it sit for

about 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.  

6. Remove from heat, garnish with chopped green

onions, and serve warm.
