Twenty-year-old Bernardo Vazquez was haunted by unknown black magic, which also enriched him. Those who knew him in San Juan, Puerto Rico, said he succeeded in a bizarre experiment that made him invisible. After reading books on the occult, he told his mother one day that he had learned to become invisible—a feat he could achieve using a strange ritual involving a black cat, wood from an old coffin, and a can. He believed that by boiling the cat, removing the bone, and placing it under his tongue, he could become invisible at will.
One night, he barricaded himself in a back room to perform a ritual. His mother became concerned when he didn't emerge and alerted the authorities. Officers had to break down his door and found the horrific remnants of the ritual inside—burned wood and a disemboweled black cat. However, St. Bernard was nowhere to be found. Had he truly become invisible... or had he passed into an unknown world?
