Torsades Croustillantes au Chocolat
Ingredients:
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
3.5 oz (100 g) dark chocolate, finely chopped or
chocolate spread
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
1 tablespoon milk
Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet
with parchment paper.
Unroll the puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface.
Spread the chocolate evenly over half of the pastry, or
sprinkle finely chopped chocolate across the surface.
Fold the pastry over to cover the chocolate layer and
gently press to seal.
Cut the pastry into long strips, about 1 inch wide.
Twist each strip several times to form a torsade shape
and place on the baking sheet.
Brush each twist with beaten egg mixed with milk, then
sprinkle lightly with sugar.
Bake for 15–18 minutes, until puffed, deeply golden, and
crispy.
Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before
serving, if desired.
