voices of angels part two of book two (worse than

Part Two of Book Two,

Haziel couldn't wait any longer. He felt something bad had happened. The city was being devoured by human worms. On the way to the police station, he decided to stop by Michael's and take him with him.
It took a dozen or so minutes for the taxi to arrive. The sight the angel saw was stunning. Surrounding the beautiful house were two fire trucks, an ambulance, and police cars. A body wrapped in a plastic bag lay beside the ambulance. The almost extinguished fire flickered gently in the corners of the house.
Tears flowed silently down his luminous face, and the color of his eyes became one great rainbow of black shades. The angel was surprised to find himself crying. He had never done so, not for such reasons. Crying was something meant for humans. It didn't mean that angels weren't sad… but tears? He felt the trickling drops bring relief to his heart and mind. Finally, he shook himself and thought that they would meet again someday, and that thought ignited an inner flame of faith.
Driving to the station, he pondered life and people. Their emotionality stirred mixed feelings, but it was something wonderfully strange and mysterious. Along the way, he was attacked by two young men armed with pistols. The dark power of Naamach could be felt from them a mile away. Haziel knew this woman would stop at nothing. The calm taxi driver barely avoided the two madmen and drove on with fear in his eyes.
"What's happening to this world?" the nervous driver shouted.
"Dying," replied the angel, lost in thought.

William Pain. Ruler of the police and terror of criminals. He stood before the closed door of his hated employee. In his sick mind, he was already plotting the trajectory of the bullet as it entered Nadia's filthy heart. Suddenly, her husband opened the door. A glow of light from the house spilled into the dark corridor, devouring the darkness like a hunter devours its prey.
"Good evening." "
Where is she?" I absolutely must speak with Nadia—he struggled to contain his fury. He had completely overlooked the figure of her husband in his cunning plans. Fortunately, there are enough bullets for everyone, he thought, smiling to himself.
“Please, she's in the bathroom, come in.”
The commissioner entered and, as soon as he heard the door close, drew his pistol.
“Where is she?” he shouted, drool gently dripping down his old, unshaven beard.
“I'll go get her,” Paolo replied coldly.
Strangely surprised by the lack of any emotion, William approached the front door and leaned against it, blocking the exit. Only now did it dawn on him that there were red traces of blood or something else on the man's white shirt. He must have been stabbed.
Suddenly, Paolo's figure emerged from behind the door and said dispassionately
, “This is what you were looking for.” He extended his hand. Nadia's severed head flew toward the commissioner.
Stunned wasn't enough to describe what Pain felt. The commissioner screamed and drew his pistol to shoot, but the light in that same Momota went out. With his free hand, he felt for the door handle and pulled it. It was locked. He cursed silently and crouched down. He was old, and his eyes seemed even older than he was. A soft voice reached him from the darkness
, "You're finished, today your soul will burn in hell."
William fired at the source of the sound, but the bullet struck a crystal vase, shattering it into hundreds of pieces.
Suddenly, like a shadow, an assassin appeared beside the commissioner. The night gave him silence and strength. It took his heart and soul. The blade pierced the veteran's back and sank into his black lungs. Fragments of pain reached William's consciousness. No one, not even an emissary of hell, knows how much a desperate and sick man can endure. But now Pain had the opportunity to show the worth of his sick mind and the cunning of a madman. With a scream, he rolled onto his back and fired the entire magazine at the shadow. Silence. The shadow vanished as if it hadn't even been there. After a moment, William realized his opponent was lying on the floor beside him. The murderer's shape stood out clearly in the darkness. Slowly, with a grimace of pain, he crawled to the body and searched its pockets. In one of them, as he suspected, he found the key to the door lock. With unsteady, painful steps, he approached the door and opened it. A gentle draft greeted his wrinkled face. The commissioner slowly sank into the darkness of the stairwell. He was very tired and in pain. He struggled to stay on his feet. "
Get to the elevator, get to the elevator..." he repeated quietly, though each breath intensified the stab of pain. He closed the door behind him and leaned against it.
"Just a moment..." he tried to say as a monstrous knife blade emerged from his mouth like a submarine. The steel pierced the wooden door, passed through the neck, and emerged into the light through the commissioner's mouth. Blood and saliva flowed down his chin like a rushing river, winding through the crevices in his wrinkled flesh. The body, nailed to the door, waited in the darkness of the night for someone to find it

.

The air was humid and the moon was visible in a dark, overcast sky as Haziel entered the Victoria Police building. The station proved to be a place no one should ever see. The lamps flickered ominously, with dirty bulbs that dimmed every so often, only to burst into full light. The walls on the ground floor were stained with blood. Pain and sadness had not yet left this terrible place. Occasionally, the menacing hisses of broken ventilation could be heard. Haziel stared in astonishment at the images painted with blood. Pieces of torn and burned flesh lay on the desks. Blood dripped from the chandeliers and fell with a loud thud to the floor, turning into a red puddle. He passed through the ground-floor rooms and headed up the stairs. The banisters were slick with blood, and in several places, there were burnt holes in the walls. When the angel reached the first floor, a horrific sight met his eyes. On the main wall, where photos of perpetrators and police trophies usually hung, now hung the bodies of crucified officers. Their heads were devoid of eyes. Legs, twisted and broken, sprouted from their torsos like the twisted, crooked roots of old, rotting trees. Arms and legs were pierced with powerful nails. The wall was several meters long, and the entire wall was covered with mutilated corpses. The desks beneath were broken or burned.
The rest of the rooms were engulfed in darkness, and the angel sensed no life within them. However, he felt the presence of two earthly beings on the floor above. Besides them, there was someone else there, someone with a heart as black as the darkest tomb.
Ascending to the second floor, the angel felt a sense of fear and uncertainty, and these feelings also filled him with a strange mood. His eyes became glassy and gleaming, as if a great beam of light were emanating from within his skull, illuminating the angel from within. Suddenly, Haziel glowed with a powerful white light. His skin became translucent for a moment, even more delicate. After a moment, the light faded. The angel no longer wore his red shirt, but a black cloak that reached his ankles. His eyes were as red as a raging inferno. His black, folded wings didn't reflect the chandeliers. Haziel's hair was black and short. A fiery sword, the angel's faithful companion, hung on his back. Late in the night, a battle between the messengers of two different worlds was imminent...
Haziel headed for the room from which the muffled moans were coming. He walked to the door and opened it without hesitation. The room turned out to be a rather large conference or interrogation room; no one ever really knew what such a large space was for. The north wall was occupied by massive, carefully barred windows. There were also several couches and wardrobes. The eastern wall was primarily dominated by a large oak table, in the center of which burned small green lamps. The western wall was occupied by tables and a sort of chalkboard. The angel noticed Tom at the large table; he was sitting with his head held high and his hands bound. He stared at Haziel with a mixture of stunned happiness. Beside him sat a tearful girl who screamed loudly at the sight of the black figure. Haziel approached them and broke the bonds.
"You're free," the young angel said with undisguised pride in his voice.
"Thank you, I knew you wouldn't disappoint me, but be careful, he could come back at any moment. "
The girl's screams faded, turning into sobs
. "Don't hurt us," she pleaded.
Suddenly, the door slammed shut. A huge flame appeared under the windows, as if someone had poured gasoline and tossed a cigarette butt. "
The key is a good entrance," Haziel said, taking a step back. He spread his wings, and the gleam in his eyes would have scared away a pride of hungry lions.
"Hello... sir," Selin sneered, "I see you're coming for partners... or rather... bait." Something was fading in Tom's eyes, something he'd previously considered trust and honesty... and if the angel had truly used him just to lure some devil here..." "
We both know that's not true, I would never resort to such tricks." That's just your style… Haziel said sharply
. "Is that so? Have you changed so much up there that you don't remember your roots, my dear angel of darkness… Black Haziel.
" "What? What are you talking about… I know your tricks, you're good at them. But it's time for the final fight, just you and me…

"

The Blue Hills were a special place for the entire angelic community. They held cultural and historical significance. It was here that the most important decisions, crucial for both Earth and Heaven, were made. The seven-story ridge stretched lazily in a semicircle. In the center lay vast fields, the rustling of which lulled all creatures to sleep in windy weather. It brought sweet dreams and soothed pain. The central hill was filled with various temples and hundreds of smoothly carved staircases climbing upwards. The summit of the Central Mountain of the Blue Hills was occupied by a kind of vast amphitheater. In the center was a large black stone, glowing with a delicate glow. Around it were modest marble benches, rising on three sides like a semicircular hall. The front of the amphitheater was a terrace overlooking the Golden Fields. The terrace was supported by nine massive columns, covered with mysterious symbols. From the blue hills, a beautiful view opened up of Mount Asgard, the official entrance to the human world. The remaining seven Blue Hills were covered with trees. Beautiful, lush shades of green covered the mountains like a silken carpet. They looked like a mighty green wave about to flood the entire world. Among the hills were several small towns, whose integration with nature was worthy of the admiration of many an angel. Despite the night, the Central Mountain and the enormous Terrace burned with the powerful light of thousands of colorful lamps placed in enormous chandeliers. Gabriel stood on the terrace, by the golden balustrade. His blond hair reflected a thousand colors and sparkled like tiny sparks lost in the darkness. Beside the archangel stood Michael, Raphael, Anael, Zachariel, Cassiel, and Uriel.
All seven of them chatted quietly, their eyes fixed on Pol.
The Golden Fields were a place so vast that their size defies description, a place so magnificent that its beauty defies description, a place that led to the foot of Mount Asgard, and thus also to the human world. The Illuminated Fields were a place as wondrous as a place could be, and as terrifying as a place could be. Every blade of grass shimmered with its own rippling color, delicate yet visible. Sometimes the colors were so numerous that they sometimes penetrated like vapors into other worlds, astonishing their inhabitants. Humans called them the aurora borealis. That night, another image joined this, overwhelming and powerful, like the impact of a thousand hurricanes. The fields were occupied by the angelic troops gathered by Uriel. Despite the darkness, it was as bright as day, so the observers from Tarsus could get a clear view of something they had hoped never to use. Below, countless angelic armies were visible. The front was literally filled with cavalry. Hundreds… thousands of figures sat on black horses, each armed with a black sword. Behind them were the infantry—thousands of battle-ready angels. Their pale blue armored robes fluttered in the gentle breeze. This provided excellent protection against falls and crushing wounds. Some of the infantry were armed with swords of varying sizes and strength, depending on the unit. Among them were ordinary iron, silver, blessed, blessed, and, for the most skilled, magical ones. Among the soldiers, Gabriel also saw hordes of archers, ready to fire from blessed bows. The front ranks of the infantry were armed with enormous yet incredibly light shields. Beneath the hills perched enormous eagles, with warriors perched on their backs. Furthermore, in the more distant corners of the field, an army of mighty lions had been led out, bodies larger than earthly elephants and fiercer than earthly sharks. Here and there, the shadows of mighty black panthers or monstrous wolves flickered. These so-called beast troops inspired fear and respect even among the most experienced angels. The sky groaned under the weight of their soldiers.
"This is a mighty army, Uriel," Gabriel said, turning to the tallest angel. Uriel was powerful. His high-set eyes gave him a stern expression. He wore light, spiked armor from which protruded powerful gray wings.
"Yes," he replied, "but I doubt it would be enough."
"Why do you say that?" Michael asked. He was tall, with short, steel-colored hair and incredibly yellow eyes. "
Why?" Uriel asked, surprised. "Beyond the black gate, we won't encounter ordinary warriors... They will be beasts... powerful, enormous, voracious monsters of hell.
" "Yes, but our beasts..." Zachariel began, "would have a chance.
" "Of course they do," Cassiel said. "They are wise beings, possessing their own will, intellect, customs, and culture. They help us whenever the opportunity arises. But..."
"But what?" Zachariel demanded.
"But without a leader, they might scatter and become a little... disoriented... the point is, every troop must have a leader. It so happens that the animal hosts were always led by Ariel or his apprentices... The apprentices are too young for such great responsibility, and Ariel is probably dead...
" "You're not killing me too soon, Cassiel," the Archangel's tired yet cheerful voice could be heard from behind the Amphitheater wall. He stood before them now, as if before a council, gazing with a merry gaze into their eyes filled with happiness and surprise. Ariel's face was covered with numerous wounds, his hands dripping with blood, and his legs were refusing to obey. In his right hand, he held the severed head of a traitor. The trophy, held by its hair, swung back and forth like a pendulum.
"We're so glad you're... that you're alive," Anael began excitedly, and he hugged Ariel.
"Yes, it's truly a miracle," Gabriel said, "tell me quickly how you managed to get this..." he pointed at the head, "this... abomination, and where have you been?"
Ariel sat down. "Yes, I'll tell you, and then I'll go to the temple. I need to heal, if that's even possible.
" The archangel told them about the incident in the cemetery, about the fight, about how Mumaiach had thrown Haziel farther than the human eye could see. He recounted with fervor how Selin had opened a portal and ordered the traitor to throw me in, after which he himself vanished like mist..." He fell into thought and looked at the bright moon and the thousands of colors around him. "I fell into a hole, but I dragged Mumaiach with me. It was cold and hot, dry and humid there... nightmarish. We fought and fought, fire blazing and springs boiling all around us. Finally, I managed to destroy him, but for a while, nothing happened." I tried to free myself, but I was locked in a giant closet, about to burn down. Fortunately, when Mumaiah's body, headless of course, was consumed by the flames, a passage opened…
"You are truly a worthy opponent," Michael said, and then, as he said, Haziel would probably follow suit…
"What do you mean?"
"I know you're tired and all, but would you mind telling us why you chose a pup for such an important task?
" "You're wrong," the angel snapped sharply. "He's a powerful warrior, he just doesn't know it yet.
" "Yes?" Michael sneered. "When will he find out… after death? Why doesn't he know? Why is he supposed to be so strong?"
"Because he's a Convert," Ariel replied calmly. "What
?" Gabriel and the rest of the crowd were surprised. "You hid the devil under your wings?"
"He's not just a devil," he replied. "He was Samael's disciple."
"No… unbelievable. You trained the converted disciple of the master himself, and now you've sent him against them." How could you do this without us knowing?
"You wouldn't let him go. Haziel has changed, trust me, he doesn't remember anything from the past; he wanted it himself. He really wanted to change, so here he is...
" "We understand the desire to convert... but secretly...?"
"He was too powerful... you wouldn't agree."
"So what now?" Zachariel asked.
"Let's wait and hope Haziel doesn't regain his memories..."

"

Please hold off on fighting," Selin said, smiling.
The angel was surprised and glanced furtively at Tom and the trembling woman sitting next to him.
"Why don't you want to fight... you'd rather surrender," the angel sneered
. "On the contrary, I'd like to refresh your memory, black Haziel. Weren't you sometimes surprised by your clothes after the transformation? Don't you sometimes see strange images?"
He did indeed have strange dreams, and his clothes weren't what he expected. They were dark and ominous.
"You're dressed as the angels of darkness, the greatest and best army led by the mighty Samael of Hell. Do you remember anything?
" The angel stood mesmerized, images flashing through his mind at breakneck speed. "
Still nothing? And your brother Zarion, condemned to exile in the depths of hell? Your rebellion, your desire for conversion, your hatred of evil? Do you remember that? You failed us by leaving so suddenly and joining those above." He pointed a long, black fingernail at the sky. "We want to give you a chance... join us... at least with us and fight in the name of evil."
"Haziel, don't listen to him," Tom yelled. "Evil is not your destiny. I always knew from the moment I saw you that you would help me, not for profit or fame, but out of pure kindness. It shows in your eyes, Haziel, it shows. You are good. You always have been." Remember Ariel…
"Silence," Selin screamed, "or I'll kill you like I killed your family.
" "What?... That… That was you…? You monster."
"At your service," Selin said, his skin growing softer and softer. It melted to reveal Selin's true face. A monster from hell stood before their eyes. He was a kind of centaur. His torso resembled a human. Powerful horns protruded from his shoulders. His head, though human, was equipped with rows of razor-sharp teeth. Long black hair fell down his scaly back. His arms were long and strong, and the fingertips were claws, meter-long, capable of retracting and extending from deep within his body. His lower body was horse-like. Black and strong. Equipped with four powerful legs, capable of reaching dizzying speeds across the hellish steppes. His back was covered with a kind of saw with sharp teeth. At the end was a tail resembling a scorpion's. A five-foot-long spike was placed on its tip. Heavily muscled, it moved effortlessly between shelves and chandeliers. Selin's eyes burned with murderous intent.
"Now that's better," he said through his fangs.
"How could you?" Tom cried, "How could you?" he repeated. Suddenly, he stood and lunged toward the devil. One gesture was enough for the man's body to be thrown against the wall at dizzying speed, like a car hitting a large tree.
Haziel, dazed, staring into nothingness, stood like a stone in the abandoned mine of the world. His thoughts, his memories, raced around various racetracks, chasing the present as if it were some escaping bait. Images from the past returned. He saw himself as a leader, saw his master. He recalled the evil he had perpetrated. Its power and the scope of destruction. A dark power gripped his fragile mind. His consciousness buckled under the pressure of memories and the weight of the situation. He also heard Tom's voice, as if through the fog, begging him to return, to turn from the dark path – "...I knew you would help me, it shows in your eyes..." Then he saw the body of his new earthly companion, the person who had risked herself to save him, fly across the vast room and smash against the opposite wall. A sudden wave of rage surged up, as if it had been waiting for this for thousands of years, as if all the precipitation in the world had concentrated in this one place.
"No...Nooooo, he was screaming...Ariel, help me...Ariel.
" "He won't help you anymore—he's burning in the same caves you threw innocents into, my brother
." "Shut up!" Haziel shouted, his eyes blazing. He drew his sword, which flared like a torch. He fluttered his night-black wings and rose half a meter above the ground, sending a wind through the room.
The girl ran to Tom and tried to check if he was alive. She knelt in the pool of blood and placed her hands on his neck, managing to feel a faint pulse.
The angel stared at the devil, his wings rustling like hundreds of windmills in heavenly meadows.
"Shall we dance?" Haziel asked through gritted teeth.
"You wanted it," the beast replied, waving its powerful tail.
Selin charged. He unsheathed the monstrous blades and lowered the tail so that the spike was above his head. The angel unleashed his fiery sword. He struck relentlessly at the devil, but he effectively parried his attacks with a monstrous spike. His clawed hands tried to seize and pierce the black angel's body, which flew gracefully into the air like a magpie, nimbly maneuvering its wings. Suddenly, a trail of fire circled in a swift circle, and five of Selin's claws fell to the floor. A powerful roar escaped the devil's burning chest. Immediately after, another five fell from his body
- You fool, you think I can't defeat you with just my hands.
The devil swung his arm and threw the angel into the wall. Haziel punched through it and landed in the former commandant's office. He stood up, but immediately had to avoid the swift and persistent attacks of the powerful tail. He crouched and pressed his hand to the floor. A powerful wave of energy erupted from beneath his hand, knocking Selin down and scattering the armored cabinets across the room. One of the waves flew right over the girl's ear, causing her to scream loudly and unexpectedly. The demon stood up and with a jerk, snatched the flaming sword from Haziel's hand and hurled it into the corner of the wall near where Tom was fighting for his life with each passing minute. The angel leaped up and hung in midair, his eyes flashing like red lighthouses. He suddenly stuck out his foot and kicked Selin in the jaw. The devil flew about twenty meters and stopped at the barred windows in the room where the fight had begun. He wiped the blood from his jaw, and suddenly four black tentacles shot out from behind him, darting at lightning speed toward the Black Angel. They entangled him, constricting his movements with murderous force, and dragged him across the floor in front of the devil. Immobilized and battered, the angel couldn't move. The beast prepared to impale its enemy with its blade.
Tom regained consciousness against the wall.
"Don't move," the woman said
. "The sword… hand him his sword.
" "What?" She looked surprised. "I can't do it, it's too heavy. How can I do that?
" "You can do it, it's an angel's sword. It can't be heavy, everything is different with them," he said, smiling, a trickle of blood flowing from his mouth and down his chin. "Please do it, or we'll die."
The young girl stood on unsteady legs and quietly ran to the extinguished sword. She looked toward the fighters. The stinger at the tip of Selin's tail slowly approached the angel's face. The beast reveled in every second of advantage. The woman grabbed the sword and screamed. It was exceptionally light, very light, even, but that wasn't the reason for her scream. The hilt was terribly hot. The woman raised the sword, feeling as if someone were pouring boiling water over her hands. As quickly as she could, she threw the sword at the angel.
"Paw," she screamed.
The baffled devil momentarily relaxed his grip, giving him a chance to free one hand. The angel swiftly caught the flying sword, which burst into flames, blinding Selin and searing his eyes. In one swift movement, the angel slashed through the tentacles, barely avoiding the stinger's attack, which dug into the floor, piercing it completely. Haziel gripped the sword more firmly and thrust it into his opponent's stomach. A terrifying screech escaped the monster's mouth.
- You fool, I won't tell you anything! Nothing!!!
"You don't have to, have you forgotten who I was?" the angel said with a smile and swiftly pierced the monster's chest, pulling out the black, slippery heart. All he saw was Selin's surprised expression. Then the devil was enveloped in cold flames, and his body rapidly began to decompose and turn into copper dust...
The tearful girl sat against the wall, holding her aching hands away from her so as not to touch them. The pain was terrible.
"I'm sorry," she sobbed. "I'm sorry... I couldn't believe it...
" "Easy, my dear, it's all right now..."
The night was drawing to a close, but the hardest part was still ahead. The full moon was coming soon, and beyond the black gate, the greatest beasts of hell were preparing to leave.
