Auras of galaxies

Scientists have observed that galaxies are surrounded by massive halos of dark matter. Interestingly, a Hindu mystic made a similar observation half a century ago. He also saw halos around galaxies—but they were either dark or invisible. In 1946, the mystic Paramahansa Yogananda said: "Divine diffused rays poured from the eternal Source, illuminating galaxies, transfigured by indescribable auras." The term "aura" is often used in metaphysics to describe colored radiation emanating from an object. Spherical halos surrounding saints, such as those depicted in some paintings, are considered auras surrounding a central region.

Invisible to scientists, the halos surrounding galaxies were revealed to the saint who spotted them half a century ago. Did he see what our scientific instruments cannot see—the dark counterparts of these galaxies' matter?Aurora australis
