Homemade French Butter Cookies Recipe 🍪
Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg yolk
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar
together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
2. Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract, mixing until well
combined.
3. Gradually stir in the flour and salt until a dough forms.
Do not overmix.
4. Shape the dough into a log, wrap it in plastic wrap, and
refrigerate for 1 hour.
5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking
sheet with parchment paper.
6. Slice the dough into 1/4-inch thick rounds and place
them on the baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch
apart.
7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly
golden. Let cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer
to a wire rack.
