My fiancée had a school portfolio cover, without any photos. We used it to write or draw on while hanging. It was very convenient. But since we split our time between my place and hers, we sometimes had to lug the folder around.
So she tore it in two, since we only use one side anyway. Nothing stopped her from giving me one half of the cover and leaving the other at her place. I even drew on the torn half once afterward.
A few weeks later, while we were visiting her, I asked for the half she had left. The half disappeared, and we assumed her parents had thrown it away.
A few days later, I discovered that the folder I'd seen torn not long ago was intact, and this intact folder was sitting peacefully on my desk.
I called my fiancée. She also remembers tearing up the cover and bringing me one part.
How this happened is unclear.
