Among the plants whose existence has been scientifically confirmed, one that deserves special attention is the one discovered in 2006 by American botanist George Yatskievych from the Missouri Botanical Garden. The researcher discovered the plant in an oak forest in the mountains of Mexico (it had previously been seen only once, in 1985). Currently, the plant (seen in the photo) has not yet been thoroughly studied, nor has it been given an official scientific name – it is known only by its Latin name, Eremitilla mexicana – "Mexican hermit plant."
