Ingredients
For the crust:
Flour 225 g
Butter 115 g
Egg 1 pc
Salt 1/4 tsp
For the apple layer:
Apples 4 pcs
Butter 40 g
Icing sugar 4 tbsp
Lemon juice 1 tbsp
In a large bowl, add flour, salt, and butter, and rub the mixture into coarse crumbs. Make a well in the center, pour in the egg, and knead the dough.
Lightly flour a work surface and roll the dough out into a 1 cm thick circle (it's best to do this on parchment paper, as it's difficult to transfer the dough later). Refrigerate the dough for 20 minutes.
Add lemon juice and 2 tbsp of icing sugar to the melted butter. Slice the apples thinly. Arrange the apple slices on top of the dough circle, pressing them firmly with your hands. Brush the apples with the butter-sugar mixture and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar.
Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C (425°F) for 10 minutes, then brush and sprinkle the apples again and bake at 190°C (355°F) for another 20 minutes (until the apples are completely soft). Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.
