Bacon Pie


Ingredients
Dough
Bacon 200 g
Milk 1 cup
Cream 1/2 cup
Egg 3
Salt 1/2 tsp
Ground black pepper to taste
Nutmeg 1/8 tsp
Cheese 1 cup
Green onion 1 tbsp

Roll out the dough to a 30 cm diameter. Place it in a 25 cm pan, pressing it into the corners. Trim off any excess dough. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake for 20 minutes. Then remove from the oven and prick the crust all over with a fork. Return to the oven and bake for another 10 minutes, until lightly browned all over. Remove from the oven and set aside.

Fry the bacon strips. Place the cooked bacon strips on a paper towel to absorb excess grease. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) (if not already preheated). Beat the eggs in a large bowl. Add the nutmeg, salt, black pepper, and chives and whisk again. Add the milk and cream and whisk vigorously.

Place the bacon and cheese on the bottom of the pie. Whisk the egg and milk mixture again for a few seconds, then carefully pour it over the cheese and bacon. You can stir it directly in the pan to evenly distribute the cheese, bacon, and chives throughout the pie.

Place the quiche in the preheated oven and bake for 30-40 minutes. If the filling jiggles slightly after 30 minutes, it needs to be baked a little longer.
