Ingredients
Flour 170 g
Butter 80 g
Brown Sugar 70 g
Egg 1
Baking Powder 1 tsp
Dried Cherries 100 g
White Chocolate 50 g
Vanilla
Orange Zest
Whisk the butter with the sugar and vanilla for 5 minutes. Add the egg and beat for another 3 minutes, until fluffy. Mix the flour with the baking powder and orange (lemon) zest. Add the flour to the butter mixture and gently fold in with a spatula.
Chop the chocolate into pieces and cut the cherries (or candied cranberries, etc., if desired) into halves.
Add the cherries and coarsely chopped chocolate. Mix gently.
Place walnut-sized pieces of dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and flatten them slightly with your fingers.
Bake at 200 degrees Celsius until golden brown. Cool. If you want the cookies to remain soft while still warm, store them in a container with a tight-fitting lid.
Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
